Find your way out of each level by harvesting the __ of your enemies. This is a platformer, were your goal is to get to the next level. To move move around you will need to use a mechanic of pushing and pulling from your little friends around the world.
A fun game! I do think the game could benefit from clearer explanation to how the push and pull mechanics work... when I hit the first large jump that required using the flame, I had already pressed shift once, so my right clicks were not clearing the gap, and I thought I was somehow stuck.
I also think it would benefit from some sort of line indicating which flame the player's right click would interact with.
Beyond those minor quality-of-life requests, the gameplay was fun and original. Nicely done!
I love the core concept, but the combination of the fixed jump arc, and the enemy attack speed made it way to hard for me to get past the second level.
@breadstick Yeah, we really liked this mechanics but couldn't figure out how to explain them better without a lot of text. Really glad you like it overall :)))
Great game! I think the art is great, and the push pull mechanic is cool. I could see it being used in a full game for puzzles and could also make speed running crazy.
Brilliant game, took me a while to figure out I had to press shift, but when I did I had a ton of fun playing. If this game was full release with more enemy's and maybe a few more mechanics, I would totally play it. The graphics and sound fit this game super well and it's just generally pretty fun. Only downside is that it's a little short, but this is a game jam so most games are.
Love the style and the mechanic. Felt really good to shift from one to another node quickly. Was confused at the start whether I was dashing or not, so that could maybe use a bit more guidance or text to really hammer that point home.
The push and pull mechanic is quite good, it gives you a lot of room to design fun areas and it gives the player a lot of freedom on how to traverse them. Flesh it out! I think the controls are slightly awkward and the collision for the attacks doesn't line up to the visuals but this is a pretty fantastic project you've made here! And I haven't even touched on the sprites and backgrounds which are gorgeous.
Love the platforming, the art, and the overall vibe.
I get the connection to the theme with scythe-ing down enemies to harvest their souls for progression. However, I found it a lot less enjoyable to have to worry about combat as it took away from my time interfacing with the cool platforming/puzzle element of the game.
That's the only critique I can come up with, otherwise extremely solid and fun!
Very well done ! The gameplay idea is really good, the overall aesthetics and pixel art are really nice. I wish I could move around in a metroid-vania with that kind of gameplay. Great job!
As a pixel artist myself I tend to pay more attention to graphics, but I'm a sucker for a good platformer. Not gonna lie it took me a while to figure out how the mechanic works, but I blame that on me for not noticing sooner. I faced an issue though that almost made me skip this game. When the game loaded at first I couldn't control the character. I could swipe my scythe though so I thought I was missing something. I had to reload the game webpage to get rid of that issue (the download on this page doesn't work for me). Overall this is pretty neat game I enjoyed it enough to be glued to the screen and bit whole game. Great work. Also the art is astonishing!
The game felt a little weird with its mechanics at the start. I could not figure out how to climb with right click for a while and once that was settled I started enjoying the game. The art was very good I really like this kind of platformers with smooth controls. Great game overall.
I love the design of the dash system and enjoy just flying around the map (and the design of the ghost with the big mouth so weirdly cuuuute). Solid platformer gameplay. However the map is a little bit too big in scale and there's no navigation or environmental changes so it can be confusing on where to go from time to time. Anyway good game.
Really nice game. Sometimes jumping with right click & the fellas you swap with shift was finnicky in regards to the camera. Most enemies are easy to kill if you try jump/run through them and hit same time. Overall Art, sound, movement are all great. Nice playtime as well with just a few minutes. Style reminded me a bit of Risk Of Rain. Great work.
Great work on this. The art is awesome and the mechanics feel really polished. I had trouble figuring out how the right click worked so maybe that is worth having a little more of an in depth explanation somewhere?
My kind of game! I loved the low res pixel art and the music suited the game perfectly. Controls were good - the push/pull mechanic was just jarring and unique enough to catch me out a bunch at the start but by the end I had it down pretty smooth, I thought it was an interesting implementation.
Pretty cool game! I really liked the pull and push mechanic, it's a fun and innovative mechanic. The artistic style is also very beautiful and the sounds matched the gameplay. Good work!
Very cute game! The art looks great! Especially the background and floor tiling! I love the push and pull mechanic and it feels fantastic to use but I feel like it was a bit underexplored in the level design maybe? The combat was decent but maybe could have used a bit more development to make it really feel satisfying.

I think there's real potential in the concept you came up with 🙌 great job!
