Harvest Monster

Well, I think the winning strategy here was probably to be more cautious and not plant a whole field of deadly monster plants, but I had some fun tossing caution to the wind and just doubling my profits as much as possible. Neat concept! I'd be interested to see this fleshed out a bit, but I love the animations and had a bit of fun playing around with this for a few minutes.

One of the best mechanics and gameplays I found so far XD. Love how the plants are both your resource and enemy. Would love for future versions to have a way to either heal or fight back. But obviously for a game jam this here is more than enough. Good job

Personally I could only get this to work on firefox. I do love games where the player has limit how greedy they are or else be destroyed, but I did wish this game had a reason for the player to push their safety, even a simple end game timer would have been fantastic. Great plant sprites!

* It was really fun to play this without knowing the premise, I planted the seeds, then clicked that button, and the plants started to chase me, it was surprising and fun and I don't think you should mention it in the instructions :D

* Awesome mechanisms for planting the seeds, loved it that you made it possible to hold 1/2 both for buying and planting.

* You should move the "If you see a black screen, sorry, please reload the game several times." to the top of the submission page marked with PSA: so people don't discard your game :O

* I really liked the juiciness in harvesting, would love to see audio and squash/explosion animations for that too :)

* It's a great vertical slice and all the parts you made are very polished, nice work!

As I mentioned this juiciness is what I mean, it was my favourite part, reminds me of Zerg Rush maps in Starcraft :D

Fun little game, the graphics were very cute, and the concept was well executed. The small plants seemed too easy and the medium ones were a bit too hard to avoid!

This was good. Graphics are nice and I like the idea for the gameplay although there feels very little reason to buy small seeds after the first grow so you really hit the end of the game immediately. Definitely the start of a good game here with a few more seed types and some items. Nice job.

This doesn't seem to load in Chrome/Edge for me. I just get a black screen with some stats. No errors in the console.

Great concept! I love the mechanic of planting and then having to run away. Also, great job with balancing out the two different types of monsters so they have different strategies. I think you're on to something here with this game.

Nice little game! It took me some time to figure out what the alarm did (but maybe that's on me, I only read the instructions afterwards :sweat_smile:) and at first I thought it might speed up the plants' growth while you kept it pressed, which actually might be an interesting direction if you want to take this game further, giving you a nice risk/reward mechanic where you want to hold the button for the growing effect but release it before the plants are fully grown so that they don't instantly wake up and chase you. Just an idea, the game was already some fun as it is. ^^

The plant growth animations looked good. Felt I had to tiptoe around when the fields were full. The plant - wake - run loop is something that could be expanded on.

I was surprised that his gameplay is better than I thought, but the content is indeed a bit less, I am looking forward to him adding new seeds and monsters in the future, and hopefully adding music, and blood-back props can not be less. Come on, very optimistic about this game!

I liked the graphics probably the most from this game, cute and reminded me of original Bomberman/Lode Runner. Was satisfying harvesting the plants...Reallly appreciated the damage buffer, so you don't die when getting hit by multiple enemies.

Very humorous, great great graphics and mechanics. Good job!
