Game is super well presented! Music is well fitting. The actual gameplay is quite fun, but money progression is very slow and I gave up after a while. I was just harvesting pointlessly :) I really wanted to play more though and unlock more things cause everything was so pretty!
Fun little repetitive and the bigger tractors seem to take a while, but it is so satisfying, had a small issue not able to like an egg to get my golars but really fun overall!
Great stuff. Perhaps drop zooming around the farm for the menu, it becomes kind of tiresome once you're half-way through the game. Also, the RNG for the fields sometimes places rocks right where you're going to start - I did discover you can rotate the harvester before you start and guess where it's going to go, either fix the RNG, or show the harvester (even let the player place it before rather than rotate?).
This is awesome, nice job! Really like the flow of the interactive world/menus, I would maybe give some indication what you might want to do next, like after the first day maybe flash the house so the player knows to do that. I also had a couple days in the field where a rock spawned right in front of my starting position. Other than that I really enjoyed it.
I like the idea of a small rural farm needing to buy a new harvester daily because the farmer doesn't know how to drive one and crashes them every time they want to harvest a field. The true farming simulator!
Fun game, very good graphics and well optimised! I would consider slightly speeding up money progression and also maybe adjusting the rng of the farm as rocks would spawn right at the start.
It is a fun game, and nice to see 3D graphics in a game jam. Farming corn gets repetitive, so having a way to get a money multiplier instead of extra chances for farming would be nice so the player does not feel obligated to use all 5 or more tries of harvesting corn every day. Maybe capping the number of fields to 3 could help with that too. I wonder what the non-corn upgrades do, if the chicken money is free or has a 2nd mini-game.
@nbumgardner multiplier would have been such a good idea that would have been amazing why did we not think about that. The chicken lays eggs which you can pickup everyday for money and the tree fields yield more value when harvesting to make even more money.
Blows my mind how well optimised this is! Runs like a butter and looks gorgeous. I was wondering whether this wasn't made in Unreal, because it looks so good and was surprised that it's actually Unity. You're very talented! Harvesting feels very satisfying with its great feedback and sounds! The only thing I would improve are hitboxes - they felt slightly too big and unforgiving. Another thing would be faster progression, since it feels kind of slow. But that has been mentioned several times already. Awesome job here, you could have a full feature game out of this if you work on it after LD!
Thank you for the game! I really liked the graphics and the music/sound effects! The first few times playing through the corn field felt really relaxing, and the first time I hit a rock I jumped out of my chair with the explosion :boom: However, it started feeling a bit repetitive that I had to go through 3 corn fields every day to get ~500g per field... maybe if each field that we bought was a little bit bigger, and a little bit more expensive?
I liked the idea, it was fun. After a few days it felt a bit repetitive. Sometimes when you start your run a rock spawns exactly at the start in your path and you die. You can avoid it if you steer before starting, but took me some tries to realize that :)).
Great choice of assets (I recognized Synty Studio's work). You guys integrated them very well in the game and the sound as well. Good job.
The audio and visual effects when harvesting crops feel great, but for some reason the progression system didn't really hook me. Visually very impressive nonetheless.
