The elders have gone before you to seed planets with life. Over time, these seeds have grown, and have yielded a great prize - intelligent life. Your task is to protect the burgeoning civilisation until its Great Minds are ready for harvest.
At least, that's what we put on the recruitment pamphlet. Really, your task is to fill the quota. If you need to carefully position an asteroid to get a physician conversant with the four humours out from under a particle accelerator, then that's what you need to do.
I mean, look at this. We can't have this sort of artillery just hanging around. It's bad for business. Next thing you know, these guys will become the competition. Best stop them before they get that far.

Good luck! And remember to keep that green post-it over your dash-cam, so we can 'digitally enhance' the footage later.

- Watch as each planet's civilisation goes through each stage, upgrading over time.
- Collect the people shown on the right. Different levels of civilisation will produce different kinds of great minds.
- Don't let life on the planet be destroyed by asteroids or stray bullets. If a planet gets hit, the civilisation level will be reduced temporarily. Usually it will grow back, but watch out: if a planet at the earliest stage is hit, it will die, and dead planets will not respawn life.
- However, don't be afraid to engage in some light planetary bombardment if you find yourself needing a Great Mind from an earlier era.
- Beware of Smugglers, who will compete with you to harvest the Great Minds, and Space Police, who will try to stop you.
Controls:
- WASD/Arrow Keys to move. The ship moves by turning on the spot, accelerating, and braking.
- You can also brake with X/Numpad 0, in case you want to accelerate and brake with different hands.
- Space/Enter/Z to shoot.
Quality of life controls:
- P/Esc: Pause and open menu.
- Ctrl+M: Toggle music.
- Ctrl+R: Reset current level.
- Ctrl+N: Next level.
- Ctrl+P: Previous level.
- Ctrl+S: Take screenshot.
Versions:
- 1_01 was uploaded at the end of the jam.
- 1_02 is the jam version with a fix for a rare crash.
- 1_1_POST_JAM has animations that were drawn during the jam but not implemented, a behaviour fix for police (failing to avoid asteroids), and tweaks to two of the later levels.
