Shadow Harvester

While I didn't found the game really "fun", I found the artist direction just perfect ! The vibe the game has is really amazing and I would totally play longer just for that. If you continue your work I would advise you to make the gameplay a little more snappy, immediate, or to go with the vibe a slow idle/clicker.

Agreed with Azel. The parallax background, vehicle, and music assets are awesome. Really love that over all aesthetic and hope you continue working on this!

@azel-wkr thanks for your feedback. Well, the option "fun" should be disabled. :D no idea, why it did not work. All thinks you mentioned regarding gameplay has been our intention to do.

The art is awesome, animation of the truck when it walk looks good, the Boss is stunning. But the game itself really boring, I have to wait 2 minutes before boss, without any gameplay events, than I died and wondered how to beat the boss, but after 2 attempts I wont to wait again to try beat him. I wish the game be more fast at least. I think there is a potential in this idea, so hope to see it finished.

@ghpxi thx for your input. We hear you and really take your advice to heart. We could not match the result with our expectations due to lack of time.

Stylish and cool looking game. Everything was on theme, but the game crushed, when I've encountered the first boss =(

As other said, great art direction and great ambiance, but right after getting the canon it gets a bit boring :(

hey everybody, thank you for your nice feedback! We had so many plans for this game and so less time. We produced all the stuff we needed for 3 levels in total... but things happened so we could not implement it in time.

Agree with the others. Beautiful graphics and nice soundtrack. I really love how the truck moves with each change.

Absolutely stunning art and audio, that background is a masterpiece!

This looks really good and the mood is great. The game itself happens too slowly and it ends before you can purchase most of the stuff. I guess if you implemented more levels, we would get to use all the stuff.

Love the music and atmosphere. The background parallax and lightning were excellent. Reminded me of the "upside down" from Stranger Things in a good way. The gameplay was lacking however and there were never any choices.

Top notch audio and graphics! The gameplay itself could have done with a bit more speed / challenge in the beginning. The boss fight was hard to see what was going on exactly.

Nonetheless, very well made!

This timed out for me in firefox but ran great in chrome! The art work and atmosphere was amazing -loved the way it walked! THe animations and effects were really good too. The music really carried the mood. This was a really good approach to the theme -can tell a whole lot of work went into this! Amazing work! :D

@twilightrh yeah, we really took a risk with this one. Either having a finished game or having a "cinematic harvester simulation" :DD Aaaaand we got second

The downloads don't seem to work and the HTML5 game loading gets stuck on 7% so I couldn't try the game even if I wanted to :slight_frown:

Loading takes a really long time, sorry for that - it seems to be stuck on 7% for quite a while (around two minutes on my computer), but there should be progress (even if invisible). Afterwards, the loading bar jumps to 14% and the rest of the game will load faster.

It's really strange that the game is not being downloaded through the links, too. I tried re-uploading the Windows version on itch.io, but it seemed to not change anything. I added a downloadable Windows version to our LD site, that one works (at least for me).

So, sorry that you could not access it, now you should be able to, again.

I tried to let the web version load for a couple of minutes (at least 5) but there was just a spinning loader and nothing happened unfortunately.

@local-minimum it depends on your browser if it loads. Firefox does apparently not work, but Chrome f.e. And even if you use Chrome it needs it's time. Like 4 mins or so. Sorry for that, have not had time for optimizations :'D

Absolutely loved the tone of this game! Didn't even mind the long load time because the music was just nice to listen to in the background. Art was beautiful too of course and all really polished. Unlike a lot of the other comments I actually really liked the pace - yes it was slow but it didn't feel slow and instead seemed to keep pace with the music, even when the tank was walking. The pace made sense because it was like this huge destructive mechanical beast is on the move and it all felt like it was building up towards something. Unfortunately the game crashed as soon as I reached the boss! Still, a great entry, well done.

Alright, tried this again. I had to wait for a couple of minutes for it to load like you said.

The game looks great and the mood is awesome. I loved the menacing walking animation and harvesting the little critters. The idea of the game was good and I didn't mind the slow pace, but I never got past the boss enemy that attacked me. It seems the shield didn't work as I switched it on when I saw attack coming but still always got damaged. Also, the gun didn't seem to charge/shoot in any sync with switching it, so I couldn't use it consistently.

I would have liked keyboard shortcuts for changing each of the parts. Clicking the arrows was a little messy especially when you accidentally click multiple parts open (that's most likeky a bug)

I'm sad I never made it so far to see the mining part. The drill in the shop was intriguing. It's a sin that I couldn't get to see all the other cool animations of the harvester.

The game finally crashed on my third try at the boss and I didn't want to wait the loading time anymore. I hope you get the downloads working.
I'd like to try a fixed downloadable version. If you update your game, even after the scoring, please tag me in the comments :slight_smile:

Incredible art and incredible music. The long loading didn't bother me at all because the music was such a banger. Keep up the great work, I'm sure that game will become really awesome!

Amazing graphics and really good soundtrack! I would say adding more thing for player to do would be a good thing, but I understand there is only so much one can do in those few hours during LD. Anyway, good job!
