Pretty fun game!

The art was good, as was the sound effects although background music would have been appreciated.

The gameplay loop was fun, but I would suggest having a controls screen or the controls listed on your page,
and make the interact button the same for everything, as pressing z to collect salt but x to place it in the cauldron was annoying, as I often accidentally pressed z which dropped the salt.

Additionally, maybe have some short text appear when you select an item in the shop to let the player know what it does.

All in all still a really solid game :)

Love the retro feel! Took my awhile to figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Would have like more in game explanations regarding items and controls.

This might be the most impressive I've seen this jam! Looove the art style and micros/early home console feel to the movement, really outstanding. I need more time with it to get further, but it feels like there's a lot of depth there too, a lot more than you'd expect for a jam game! Hope you get more eyes on this one, it very much deserves it!

Great game, i struggled a little because my keyboard doesnt have arrow keys (they are on a separate layer from the z/x keys, WASD support (or gamepad support) would have been nice.

Anyway, Donkey Kong Jr. is one of my favourite classic NES games and this replicates it very well, while still adding loads of novel stuff, well done, love the gameplay and the feel

i like that items you have picked up act as a sort of health, instead of just directly having health

great game! the graphics and sounds give a retro gaming experience, the controls are tight and responsive,
the mechanic is straightforward and is simple to understand, truly a fun and challenging game! keep it up!

Really fought the controls as I kept dropping the salt and destroying it. Would be nice for it to not just get lost when dropped on the ground.
The graphics where really good, reminded me of some old platformers I used to play.

Really nice entry! The controls were not intuitive but once i sorted them out i had some fun. When the zombies used my bridge i was horrified! haha
