Fun game although I wish there was more of a punishment for getting the button wrong because I could spam keys and end up winning. other then that fun and nice art(:
This was fun. My score was 27. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) since there's not a penalty for pressing the wrong button, I was able to mash all the arrow keys and win without looking at the arrows too closely. On that note, the pixel-art arrows are also a little difficult to parse.
@triangle-point When I had friends of mine playtest they pointed the same thing out to me. I noticed this problem while working on the game but never saw it as an issue due to me being slow at spamming keys, so it made no difference in the challenge for me lol
This was an interesting game, I really liked the idea and concept behind it. It was simple but effective, and at times was really stressful trying to keep up! The music really added to that, so nice work making that and getting it in, it fit the mood.
Not to beat a dead horse, but the lack of penalty did ruin a lot of the tension. As others have said maybe some pause or delay if you hit the wrong key might be good. I think similarly to what others have said the arrows were just a bit hard to parse being so simple, maybe they could be more exaggerated! The letters though I liked, and I like change in colour with a change of difficulty, it added to the vibe and really let me know things were getting serious.
This was a neat concept overall with some nice touches, with a few changes I could see myself wasting a lot of time with friends competing for a high score.
@tasakasama did you full screen the game or only play it as the browser shows it without full screen? The UI shouldn’t be like that as long as you click the full screen button in the bottom right of the embedded file
Cheese aside (I was also able to get to 32 by mashing all arrow keys lol) I think making the arrows more readable at a glance would be nice. Maybe color code them and give them a more distinctive outline.
I love the polished presentation of the game such as even going so far to include an "about" screen which normally most people don't have time for in the COMPO. The music fits the speedy pace of the game and the pixel art sprites and background look nice. The only thing I would revise for the visuals would be to change the timer font to a pixel styled font to match the rest of the game. Regardless nice work on getting this done for the COMPO!
This game is simple but certainly make me feel rushed. It's addictive. I also like how the background music gradually develops and becomes more extravagant. nice :)
Getting past 12 was pretty hard, I don't know how people are getting past 30, LOL. I love this frantic and quick game. I noticed there's no penalty for hitting the wrong key but it didn't seem to help me, I'm still too slow :')
This was hard! I definitely cheated at some point...I never would have thought to do so on my own, but my teammate @celtican saw me playing and suggested keyboard smashing, so blame him 😈
The polish/gamefeel was SPECTACULAR! Everything moved so smoothly, absolutely lovely. I agree with another commenter that the arrows could have been clearer, maybe they would have benefitted from being color-coded. Overall, I loved the graphics, music, and atmosphere, very fun!

The game concept itself was quite a lot of fun, especially when I managed to get combos of keystrokes correct.
I think the arrows could have used some coloring to make them look a bit more apart from eachother.
Then I was fired anyway... ...probably for cheating... ;-)
