Mystery VN demo about a group of friends in a forest.

'Escape' or the top-right button for options, 'Home' for fullscreen toggle (also available in the options), 'Enter'/click/tap to advance text, click on choices

Audio might be crackly on some devices/browsers, because Godot :crying_cat_face:

Note: If you're a speedreader, don't click through too quickly. It sometimes causes functions to skip, which may either get you stuck in a specific part, or miss it altogether.

Nice start! But I was not sure the game was loaded with just the all white. Clicking seems intuitive enough to check if it loaded. But maybe just a little anything to indicate the game loaded. Like if this is the character seeing stars from the fall, just be all white with a few sparkles. Or maybe a timer so if no click it moves to open scene after a few seconds. Or a transparent layer of the forest on white? Just a thought, could run with all white. Just how it felt to me. Dope art, and I like the animations and choice mechanic.

@jampla-games Yeah, I agree about the white screen, I had a misunderstanding during development and we've been discussing how to handle it - your suggestions sound like pretty good solutions! Thanks for trying out our game! :smile_cat:

I must say, I'm a little confused, just to be sure I didn't miss anything. The game ends right as you stand up and view the forest? And it says the demo is over?

The art style was nice, the interactions clear. I didn't hear any music or sounds either, but perhaps that was a missed opt-out?

@local-minimum Yes, that's correct. It's a work in progress - we weren't able to finish by Jam but we're still working on it as Extra. But we wanted to be able to play and rate everyone's games, so we had to publish an early first version to Extra since you have to publish before you can rate.

There's no sound at the moment so that is a bit of a missed opt-out, but sound is planned later & it's not like Extra games show you anything but "n/a" when scores drop anyway at this time. I'll go ahead and opt out of sound for the time being, though.

Fun trees' appearance. Nice char cap there. Loved the choices! Some music would be cool, even for this amount of gameplay. Continue!

Oh, I was expecting more ^^" I see that it is work in progress, so I'll come back later :-) I can't rate everything. Sound is missing, and right now the game is not really fun I think (because the story is not done yet). I'll rate for graphics though, those look very awesome!

Edit: I see that shreemp and papabirb are working together! That is cool! :sunglasses:

The game is still in WIP, but i think that this could be a good game if you continue it and add stuff like a boss fight.

Wow, this really is short. I'm guessing most of the development time went into the game engine and artwork, because it looks very slick and polished. It's just a shame that it ends before it even really gets going. I hope to see this get finished someday!

Pretty cool start! The beginning reminds me of Cube Escape series / Rusty Lake : ))
There is a similar slightly spooky vibe here. Great artwork! I wanted to see more, quickly, ones I started.

Starts very intriguing, it's hooky! Keep up the work!

A few things I noticed:
- note that serif fonts are a bit hard to read, my eyes were straining a bit / maaybe sans-serif is a better choice when there is a lot of text
- there is no way to skip text - I accidentally went out of the game / and wanted to move to the point I was, unfortunately this was not possible;
- some of those typing sounds can be a bit harsh on ears / maybe something slightly more subtle would be better :)

Overall, awesome effort, love going over screens with this artwork.
