Neighborhood Newsman's Sprint is

a simple game where you play a young skater who delivers newspapers on his way back home. The objective is to deliver 40 newspapers in two minutes. Please don't mind the physics bugs 🙃
For perfs the web version has super low graphics quality

How to play ?

- Use Z/S to accelerate or break
- Use your mouse or Q/D to steer
- Space to jump
- Left shift to boost
- Use left click to deliver a newspaper
- Get 40 points in 120s to win !

Known issue:

- Removed targets won't spawn back, it's better to restart the game 🙏

What's not from us:

- audio: youtube no copyright sound
- 2 skating animations from mixamo

Fun to move around, but the web version of the game lags a ton. Other than that, had fun playing it! Good job!

Honestly i would have liked a little bit more feedback in the actions, throwing the newspaper and moving around with the skateboard feels really unsatisfying, and in general it's really boring to be honest, though i understand that making a 3D game for a 72 hour game jam is always really REALLY complicated, so i give you credit for even managing to have something that is actually playable, and at least entertaining, it sure as hell must have been really difficult!

Thanks @richard08 & @dongle ! the map is randomly generated btw, would have really liked to have more time to make a better shooting system and improve the movements but it's life 🤷‍♂️

the left and right turning with keyboard keys was pretty sensitive, dunno if it's a bug

moving with the mouse worked fine though, i really liked the zoom / bullet time effect when i held LMB

The graphics are amazing! The movement feels awkward because when you move your mouse you move along with it. The zooming in and slowing down while throwing newspapers is cool but I think if you didn't actually change directions while zooming in, it'd feel cooler.

I like the mood, jumping off the roof tops was dope! Same with the ramps!
I don't know anything about skating games. Coming from a layman that doesn't game, maybe having some direction mobility while in the air would be nice. That way I can avoid hitting the walls easier.
-acceleration from stationary should be faster
-red indicator is hard to see

Can't wait to see what you make next.

if the web player doesn't load on the LD page opening the iframe in its own tab got it working for me

I love the mood! Music, lighting and level design (is it generated procedurally?) make the enviroment so nice to travel. Most of the time I spent on sightseeing different buildings and jumping on ramps
