A ghost game...
Started this game jam with a pretty good idea, you're a ghost who has been summoned to court for haunting without a license. Right away I got to work on a dialogue system with choices, multiple endings, a physics-based minigame, dynamic cameras and 3D assets on Blender (first time trying it!).
You play as this maladjusted ghost
And the Judge has already decided you are guilty! Truly no justice to be served in the living world...
Will your Ghost Lawyer, Mr. Spookington be able to help?
All that and more awaits in Court Case n°_B00_!
...is how I would have advertised the game had I finished it.
Unfinished business
After writing out the gameplay sequences, and struggling to implement them on the first day, unfortunately this will have to be where it stays at. My intention was to go for the Compo but even if with another 24h I don't think I'll be able to pull this idea off. There is no really a playable build at this point, just a bit of the longer dialogues I implemented.
Remember folks: scope is key, and getting overwhelmed wanting to do too much is perfectly natural!
I'm actually a Language Quality Tester recently made redundant from my company, it's been a bit hard to find the focus when I worry about finding a job in the next months. It's rough out there in the industry right now, good luck to us all !
That said, I do like the concept and would love to explore it more on my own terms, so keep out an eye for that!
