Battle cats, but it's mushrooms, but its a clicker, but you only have one unit, but there's only one enemy, and he levels up when he defeats your units, and you can summon a "hero" by spending all your currency.
My initial idea was to have some kind of game where there's a hero raiding your base, and you have to delay him to buy enough time to summon another hero. Partly inspired by isekai light novels, and battle cats.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fully implement this idea in time, so for now you can only summon a bigger mushroom instead.
My goal for this game jam was to try creating my first game in Bevy engine, as well as to try doing a solo submission for a game jam.
Making a game in bevy was fun, but not having an editor turns out to be really tedious to work with, I felt somewhat burned out near the end, I really like the ECS system though.
Future direction?
1. Make the summoning system a gacha (without the paid currency)
2. Add heroes to actually summon
3. Randomized Enemy Heroes
4. Some kind of progression, e.g. skill tree
5. Some kind of high score system
6. Balance the game to actually be fun?
7. Art, animations, post-processing, all the pretty stuff
