Hey! This is my super simple entry for Ludum Dare 55! It was really fun exploring the pathfinding systems in Godot, figuring out how to structure a basic gameplay loop, etc. I've got a lot to learn but I had a blast doing this. Thank you to everyone for making this possible! :3
I wanted to try and create something based around the idea of tower defense since the theme was "Summoning". The code for this kicked my ass a tiny bit, but I had so much fun doing it and I think I learnt a lot. This is my second time participating in a jam and I honestly love the experience.
In retrospect - there's a lot of cooler things I could have done here, but I'll continue developing this prototype and see where it goes. The full idea was to have different types of summons available, and a balancing factor involving creativity. Creativity is the essense of what you need to summon - to doodle creatures into existence!
Another neat spin would be to reverse this - have you summoning monsters to destroy the crystal instead. Lots of possibilities!
EDIT: I cannot seem to get the embed for the HTML5 working here. It keeps complaining about Cross Origin Isolation, so I've included a link to the itch page where things seems to be working if you'd prefer to play it in your browser. Please note that full screen is highly recommended!
