Partake in the Grand Summon Rituals, assemble your tools, get your materials ready and discover the first creature you're about to summon. Ritual is a gadget game, with small physis based puzzles where you become an cultist using precious artifacts to sign a pact with a demon.
Made as a team of two, we both took part in programming, modeling, designing and making sfx. The musics are bought from Dark Fantasy studio and most of the sfx have been done through the jam, it sets the right mood so if you can, play with sound on. Please don't interact too quickly (use objects one by one), as there might be a physic's glitch.
We hope you will enjoy this small experiment !

PS : I added those subtiltes post-jam, and augmented the drag n drop sensivity. As it doesn't affect the gameplay I hope you are okay with it, if not, I left the original submission in the download section :)
The game is very beautiful and has a truly unique atmosphere, supported by an oppressive sound design. The mechanics work fairly well, but I find that it lacks explanation (or maybe I'm just too dumb) because beyond lighting the candles, I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with the book and the stones.
This is absolutely fantastic. The vibes are so fantastic. I got stuck on the Cat thing, but I love how inscrutable and arcane it is while still being playable. Great job!
@MathieuSpooky, thanks for your feedback ! I implemented a few subtitles to help the player :) You can find them in the game's page if you don't want to play again.
Nice job, very atmospheric and looks great. I got a bit stuck after the candles - I *think* I was meant to drag the pieces near the correct coloured candles from the book, but I couldn't seem to get them to "activate" other than the blue rectangular piece. Some pieces got stuck at the bottom of the screen and I couldn't interact with them any more.
What a great job! I really liked the artistic style used that, together with the music, helps create an incredible atmosphere, it really feels like you are in a castle alone trying to summon demons xD. The only thing I would add would be a tutorial or guide to improve the game feeling. Well done!
Alongside the creepy atmosphere and delightful low-res aesthetic, the best thing about the game is how immersive it feels. I hope you expand it into something much bigger.
Good looking game with a strong atmosphere. The ritual-making feels nice and organic, although sometimes it's difficult to move objects in a predictable way and the screen can feel a bit cluttered. I got stuck at some point so I didn't get to see the ending unfortunately, but I that was a fun experience nonetheless.
This game is honestly breathtakingly amazing visually, atmospherically and even the music adds so much weight and mystery to it. I wouldn't know where to begin with, it is simple yet extremely effective, the puzzles are not too hard but understanding them is a (fun) process that I could get behind even if it was several times as long of a game. The only tiniest of issues I have with it is that some of the puzzles that required me to pull things off of others (namely the pyramid) the things seemed rather unwilling at times, and very willing to peel off at others. But it's such a small issue in the grand scheme of things this is an amazing entry through and through.
Super cool artstyle! I loved figuring out the puzzles, but the dragging mechanic was frustrating (especially with the rotating cypher). I managed to summon the creature in the end :))
Gameplay is super unique, never played something like this, Great job!
