Speed Demons

Interesting little basic racer. The extra racers being summoned are hard to notice if you're already in the lead, and I swear I finished 1st but it told me I was 3rd at the end.

Definitely had a decent feel of speed though.

That's fast paced~ Is there anything to do against the summoned enemies? They mostly ran past me lol. Some more feedback when going through the gate would be good, some uumph!~ Well done!

I really like your game, love the fast paced, nice vibe with the geometric graphics + music, and intensity. Feels very speedrunnable as you learn optimal lines. Appreciate the extra game modes. Reminds me of Thumper in the best of ways.

With some additional mechanics this could be a fun little racing game. I enjoyed what I saw, good job!

Love this game, great sense of speed! I think it's a bit of a stretch for the theme of summoning, but I'd love to see a complete version of this title. Also the leaderboard was a nice touch. Great Job!

Controls are pretty responsive, and the racing part feels good. Some kind of interaction with the summoned racers. would have been a great add.

@themotleybrit It's a pattern we've noticed, if one of them gets a boost at the end it's joever

@svenerik There's nothing to do against them except to strive for 1st place ! We were not able to implement additional features with the AI due to time constraints

@mcgank You're right. We wanted to make a game we would enjoy first, and theme-compatible second. I believe it fits the theme well since there are portals and, well, naughty foes spawning all around

It would be nice if there was some indicator of where the next boost portal was if you were on the wrong side of the tube-track-thing. Feels like the game's about chaining them, as they seem to spawn not too far away from each other around the tube, but if you lose the trail it can be tricky to get back on it.

really enjoyed the game, it had a dose of nostalgia for me since I played a lot of ace speeder when I was a kid.

The game feel is nice, I think allowing some lateral only movement would be a good add.
I really liked the way you managed to generate the road.

This must be one of my favorite entires, so fun! But I always get slightly rekt at the end. That said, I don't think I was that bad. Even got into leaderboard, which is great and great that this game has it!

I really like how the game looks and plays. The only thing is that enemies are a little bit unpredictable towards the end, but that's definitely something that can be polished probably quickly after the LD. Great game, loved it!

It is fun, reminiscent of the Extreme G series. It can be a little disorienting though, the ground texture frequently looks like it's moving backwards, especially when you hit the booster.

I really the design of the robot, it's simple but cool. Besides, it's a quite nice little racing game.

Great to see a fellow racing/speed-type submission for this jam! (although I'd say yours is much more polished than mine haha.) Loved the fact you we able to squeeze multiple game modes into the game, and that webGL performance is pretty good. I guess it felt a bit lonely on Summoning mode, ie the opponents were all somewhere behind the camera, but a couple caught up to me eventually. A great game in all!

I like the fast paced gameplay and the overall mood. I just wish there were more obstacles to dodge, just looking for booster pads gets boring after a while.

Pretty cool racing game. Some sort of manual boost for the player would have been a great addition. Even simple sounds for hitting the boosters would really help add some feedback for the player. It'd be super neat to see the glow of your engines as light reflected on the track, as well as the player shadow to showcase the mech hovering. Really liked the simple & clean mecha models and their engine effects, including the lightning bolts! Controls-wise, the camera felt to lag behind the mech a little too much. I wonder how it would feel to have the camera lead the way instead of trail behind the player's inputs. Very nice entry!

I really appreciated the matching music and the fast paced racing genre. :) At one point I was just standing still (had to go afk) but I could still see the opponents zooming past me, which just added to the mood. :D
