I like the simplicity, the sound effects, and the idea! I think it could benefit from a title screen, more levels, and some background music- perhaps chiptune.
I agree with @jesse-martin; the spider's random movement will make the game way more interesting. Also, maybe make the leaf a bit more leafy in shape? Otherwise, good job — congrats!
A nice simple concept. There's not much challenge with the spider's path being predictable, perhaps adding a timer would encourage the player to take more risks.
A nice simple game, that works really well. It feels a bit to easy to be really fun, and the spider just makes you go in circles. I really like the simple art style though. :)
Nice and simple. Congrats on your first Ludum Dare jam :)
One 'bug' I'll call out: the randomness of the 'pest' placement sometimes lead to getting multiple points just by the pests spawning right on the player ladybug.
You could tweak that a little with a quick collision check first before placing, just to make it slightly more challenging.
Agreed with previous comments. The spider doesn't really pose any challenge. I'd make it move randomly, or chase you or compete for prey. Also the collision box is a little too big.
I liked the game, simple and nice, but I would like it to be a bit more difficult and challenging. The placement of the "pests" and the spider's movements are a bit too predictable, which make the game not as fun as it could have been. Overall, good job. Congrats! :)
Hi Tharinda and welcome to your first Ludum Dare game jam! :). Nice first try, simplicity, animations. I even lost a few times in the beginning because I see the collider is not precise enough and it is more like a rectangle around the spider. I would suggest some improvements if you would like to hone your skills further: - make the spider move in a random direction - make the shrink animation when you fall - you can go further like, make levels, obstacles (walls), more spiders or other creatures ;)

But otherwise, nice and simple. I dig it :)
