A City Building Game
Inspired by my last attempt at Ludum Dare, and the growing power of Web technologies, I've build a fully HTML/JavaScript based game.
I used the frameworks Webix and Three.JS to provide me with a simple interface and 3D utilities respectively.
Objective
The objective of the game is to keep your city alive. You are the overseer of the last bastion of humanity.
Grow your city into a self supporting ecosystem where humanity can once again find it's feet.
Story
The earth was destroyed (read the story from the main menu). You have been shipped off the Venus (that's right, Venus!) with 100 other people, to restart humanity.
Because Venus is a very inhospitable place, with sulfuric acid rain, Carbon Dioxide for the bulk of its atmosphere. You and the survivors of Earth were sent with a Balloon ship, a space capable vessel that transported you from earth to Venus, descended into the atmosphere and inflated to form a surface on which you can construct machines and factories in order to provide for your needs. Humanity is alive and hopefully well, living on the inside of the sphere away from the acid rain!
Fun
Because you're building on the outside of a sphere, and you're floating in the atmosphere, and because ballast is heavy, your city could easily flip over if you put something heavy on top with nothing to counterweight it on the opposite side.
Balance your city so the things that need to be at the top (solar power, plants, et-al) keep pointing up (sunlight) and heavy things are at the bottom of your city so it doesn't tip over!
RATING!
Please do not rate me for art for the little intro video, it's AI generated - but everything else I did myself.
