Introduction


Bumper Master is a competitive game where players race to collect randomly appearing coins before their opponent, while avoiding falling off the stage.

A solo work for Ludum Dare #58 Jam.

Score more points than your opponent before the timer reaches zero.

This game is straight fire, you cooked so hard. Love the music, game concept is fun, controls feel amazing, and the UI for pausing and stuff being integrated in game feels super polished. Fav game ive played so far

这次居然是一个人做的吗）屏幕的视觉效果和音效很有意思，我很好奇这个扫描线是如何实现的，这次jam我尝试了一下用global volume中的film grain来做扫描线，但是效果好像不大行（），果然还是要写shader吗）））

This is really fun. Playing with WASD, the AI Destroyed me like it was the LeBron James of Bumber Master. So maybe an easy Mode would be nice for noobs like me. This has a lot of potential post LD. Feels like a mix of Mario Kart and Gangbeats. Great Job! I hope you Develop it further. I'll be back to play it in the two Player mode after Work. This is my favorite Entry so far :)

This is really great. I had to do a double take when I saw it was made my one person. Even for a team this would've been impressive but doing this solo is insane. The controls and physics feel really nice and the graphics are great. I do agree that the difficulty of the bot is a little too high but that doesn't detract from the experience much. Great entry, well done!

Super cool presentation. The game is nice but gets slightly repetitive at the end of round. I would think it works better in pvp. The bot is slightly too good but feels like a player, maybe because of the inherent chaos of the movemtn, so nicely done on that part. I agree on that there should have been more penalty/reward when you fall/kick other out, makes it more intresting since sometimes it might be better to fall.

@twistways Thanks so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it. Besides, I added an easy mode now so maybe you can try it out. As much as I’d love to create my own soundtrack, audio design isn’t my strong suit—so I’ve opted to use existing music and skip the Audio ratings. Still, I’m glad the music felt fitting!

Great work! The visuals are excellent, and the music fits perfectly. The controls feel smooth and responsive. I’d love to have the option to pause the game and adjust the music volume. Also, the AI is a bit too difficult!

@kafuuchino I somehow did worse than against the original one :D. But I like both, amazing that you did that this fast! The new one does feel a bit easier, but it also feels more aggressive, which is not a bad thing. I just got knocked out a lot more, and that's still quite costly. I think this game would be really great a a couch coop on a console with controllers!

@grummelchen Thank for sharing another feedback! Glad that the easy mode works for you, and yes, I also believe that this game works best on consoles with controllers. Unluckily, I had no experience working with consoles or controllers, so I might not be able to release a version that supports multiple players with controllers shortly :(

I really like the concept. It is so simple yet so fun and engaging. Feels really polished! I think it would be amazing to have some kind of power ups to spice up the gameplay. Good job!

I'll admit, I had reservations about the controls going into the game, having played games with a similar perspective in game jams in the past, but holy cow this one plays well. The controls were tight and responsive, and I'm so glad you didn't use tank/driving controls and instead opted for full 360-degree movement. The sense of weight and momentum was real but not overbearing - a hard balance the strike. The graphics were excellent, as well, evoking a modern spin on classic arcade games.
