would be cool if a net could catch multiple bugs in one swing. i tried a few times by never managed it

Incredible music and vibes. Simple is really best sometimes. I wish I could see all the bugs skittering around and have to keep track of which ones I've already seen. Blacking out the ones that are new feels a little too easy, but that might just be me.

I caught them all! This was awesome. Love it.
Took a few tried to get them all. I forgot to look at my high score at the end though. It would be nice if there was a way to view the high score from the main menu.

I really like how the different bugs have different movement patterns.

Has issues at 5120X1440

I have a "full screen in window" plugin that lets it be nearly maximized, but still within a window. So I was able to play it well.

I liked that a lot of these bugs had ridiculous names and designs, and a nice variety of movement patterns. Good job!

Really fun! Took a few tries, but got all of them, even the bomb bug (it deserves a spot in the journal too...) It's trying its best, and succeeding...

The music was jammin', art was adorable, the bugs were zaggin'. It's great.

My one frustration, was that when my catch overlapped multiple things it didn't get both. I'd expect that if it were to only get one it would get the unknown then , highest scoring, then bomb. Part of my frustration came from the bomb bugs being very good at their job, and zagging randomly into an already clicked safe area.

Edit: High score was 350; slowing down is a good way to get a higher score :smile:

Really cute game, only just managed to get a score over 100 on one of my runs but I did manage to catch one of the fast moving rare bugs, so I'm content. Great scaling and difficulty curve. Can't really think of any criticisms or places that would need improvement for this one, really fun game. Nicely done!

Incredible i had to collect them all! Your art style was so fun and incredible too! I just wish there was like a lil more feedback when catching a bug! like a lil +1 popping up would be azmazing. Best game ive played yet. And omg it reminded me of the menus screen for pikmin 2

This game is really fun! I’ve spent a lot of time playing it — the gameplay is simple, engaging, and fits the theme perfectly.

So simple, yet so entertaining. It was way more fun than I expected! I like how they all have different movement patterns, and the designs are very original too. Maybe I’d adjust the spawn rates, though, because sometimes it took me a few minutes of playing before a new, undiscovered bug appeared.

AH this was so fun! I genuinely got so excited every time an unknown bug scurried on screen and just started clicking wildly hahaha so charming and the art is absolutely adorable!

Well, this is a really well made game.

The idea is great for LD format, the animations (when player finds a bug) are really great, but what definitely makes the game is the music. The loop is seamless.

The only issue I've found is related to resolution. See the attached image: 1 is the itch.io page, 2 is my fullscreen display (3440x1440). 3 is my puny score, though I might re-do that later. :3!

Seemed like my favorite bug was the bomb, but regardless of that the atmosphere was great with the graphics and audio. The random spawning of new ones felt a bit stagnant by the half point having to just wait around while the pesky bombs kept taking my lives by running under the next, but overall a nice game.

Cool visual, i especially liked beetles with crosses, their glow fit perfectly into the visual.
Recommended make the appearance of new unknown beetles more frequent. I had new unknown beetles appearing every 40 seconds.
A fast unknown bug is too difficult to catch without knowing where and when it will appear.
It is worth warning the player with the color of which side the fast unknown beetle will come from before it appears.

Very fun! Some of those beetles are wicked hard to catch with the overlapping but I really liked the challenge of collecting them! Very polished and cozy, the color palette reminds me of bugsnax but that might just be the "catching bugs" overlap. Good stuff!

Collecting the reference book is very interesting! I really like the design where different insects have their own unique movement patterns, and some of the insects are just so adorable!

very chill game, the background music was a banger lol, it would be cool if there were a description/fact about the bug in the collection book, but still overall very nice game, good job!

Sound effects are satisfying. Was bummed there wasn't an Avatar bug and was instead Four Nations. Took a few attempts, but got the whole collection in the end. The delay on the swing was a nice touch and having multiple lives was a godsend. Too many of the Jam games seem to be 1 hit = restart which is a bit of a pain to try and experience the whole thing. I wish the bugs avoided the obstacles on the map since a few times I did a blind catch over the log and didnt realize a bomb beetle was chilling there. Well done overall.

I like the whimsical designs of the bugs, which really made me want to collect everything to see what other fun designs you made!

I have one problem though. On a Widescreen-Display going into fullscreen does not work without cutting off even more parts of the game than the small view in the jam site does. You probably have to fix the way you are scaling the game when the screen is not 16:9.

This game is a classic simple-yet-addictive type — so much fun! One minor issue: there can be long gaps with no new bugs appearing.

If these were references to Steven Universe and Avatar Legend from AANG, then super cool, the game is addictive, although the idea is quite simple, it turned out very catchy and the music fits the game perfectly.

The only thing that upset me was that if there are 3 or more bugs in the catch zone, only 1 will be caught. AND AS A RULE, THAT'S THE BOMB BUG THAT CAME IN AT THE LAST SECOND.

I had a blast collecting all the different bugs--I found it _so_ sneaky that the bomb bugs would occasionally emerge from the stump (...or maybe I just wasn't observant enough), and the art is adorable.

Lovely graphics and the music is well done. The game itself was a bit confusing at first (felt too simple until I understood the boom bugs are... dangerous) but waiting for a chance to catch those blacked out bugs was quite some fun. Scored 185 and still have a few bugs to unlock.

Really nice little game, the idea is well exploited and that makes the whole work, well done!
