Animatronia: A Journey Through the Scrapyard

by ryusui
The city of Animatronia, once a haven to all manner of obsolete machinery, has come under the rulership of a cruel Supreme Overseer who seeks to eliminate all machines that do not serve his vision of a new robot order. Alysia, a long-defunct entertainment unit, is cruelly torn apart and callously thrown into the scrap heap on his orders. Her bottom half and legs survive the fall to the bottom of the abyss, but her other parts are scattered, tucked away in hidden places beyond dangerous traps and berserk scrap robots. Her mission: find her missing components, reassemble her body, climb her way back to the surface, and challenge the Overseer for control of the city!

Gamepad and keyboard/mouse controls supported.

Arrow Keys/WASD/D-Pad/Analog Stick: Move Alysia around.

Z/Space Bar/Bottom Face Button: Jump (and double-jump when in midair).

X/Left Click/Left Face Button: Attack.

Press the Up direction on any control configuration to interact with control panels (Alysia must have her arms intact). If you can find a repair unit, you can press and hold Down on any control configuration to heal.

A powerful secret upgrade is hidden somewhere in the scrapyard - can you find it?

Made with Godot 4.7.2. Art assets created with Blender and Aseprite. Font used is NotJam's Sci Mono.

EDIT 10/21/2026: Version 1.1 *should* fix some hitching in HTML5 and adjusts the jump timing to be more forgiving. As always, rate based on the 1.0 version!

Funny game but a little bit too unforgiving for my taste. I had frame drops that made me jump of edges and die, which was frustrating. One time I got frame "bursts" that caused the game to run super fast for a brief moment. I died because I instantly ran into a grinder... Other than that, I like the smooth animations, well done!

Yay, I overthrew the overseer.
Nice platformer, I like that the new platforms drop into place rather than just appearing.
The game freezing when something new loads in wasn't great. It would have been better to preload everything since there are not many assets here.
That one jump to the right in the final room into a single block high space was frustrating.
I did not realise I had an attack until I picked up the upgrade.
