In this thrilling "silent film" (with sound) you will collect the intertitle cards and use their key phrases to solve puzzles.
* The mouse: Interact with the environment. Navigate to new rooms, and speak with the locals.
* Escape: Pause the game and adjust volume if needed.

Anyway, this was awesome! I was all on board from the first line of dialogue followed by the deadpan titlescreen, such a funny concept! I loved going to everyone and telling them everything (especially "I'm the best detective in town!", truly Trivia's attorney badge), most of the times it didn't do much but when it did that was so fun! The wizard puzzle was my favorite, I was honestly unsure but the "Are you all right?" question confirmed it for me, no way that wizard's mental health was good. I also really liked the boat crash and guard look over there scenes, they were perfect. Overall I don't really have any feedback (except that the Speakeasy thing flew over my head cause I associate it with the German language school and am not American but that's no fault of yours), truly amazing game!
And love this challenge with speed run
I found going back to the mainland after crashing the boat a bit strange though
The title card mechanic was a lot of fun, even though all of the puzzles were pretty straightforward (except "blind tiger" - I don't think I had ever heard that phrase before!). I love the random weird little characters and some of the gags like the boat crash. The jokes were on-point, especially "Nope, just a detective" and the Captcha text actually being verbatim something a character said.
My one disappointment was that I couldn't respond to "I'm going to get away with it!" with "Yes" to immediately end the game in a loss! The previous game made me think that could actually be a possibility.
I don't give these out lightly, but for such a lovely game you've clearly earned the Funniest Nautical Jump-Cut award!
Incredible work, super impressive!
The title cards was such a great take on the theme. And it worked really well as a mechanic. Some of the puzzles, like the captcha, were just hilarious.
It must have been so much work making all that content, but the end result was great. The whole game was smooth to play and very well paced. Beautifully drawn backgrounds!
Here's a little fan art portrait of Trivia
First things first, obviously the amount of effort required for each of these rooms is astounding. The visuals were incredible, and I really liked the choice of that pinkish-red as the accent color. It was used in really smart ways and really made some of the details pop. The voice lines were really well done, and there was a good variety. I do think in some of the multiperson scenes it would have been nice to have some indication of who's talking since I got mixed up a handful of times.
In terms of puzzle design, I would have liked to see a little bit more variation. The limited number of interactables and title cards makes sense from an effort perspective, and it does help with avoiding getting stuck, but the flow was really just "go here, get card, go there, use card" until the game was over. It was also a little confusing how most NPCs only had the one line of dialogue but then there were a few you had to interact with more than once. The drunk guy was the one place I got stuck because I think I tried to use the second card on him at one point but it wasn't the right time, and I finally came back later and that time it worked. I did appreciate the little marker that showed he was the one I had to interact with when I was stuck though.
All in all, I think the game was really technically sound, and the art and audio assets were particularly clever, but I just wanted a little bit more... game. I know this is just the nature of LD, but I really found myself longing for something more mechanically deep and would have no issue trading some of the cutscenes for more involved gameplay. That being said, it was still a really great end product and I did enjoy my time with it!
To celebrate, I've given you the Alcoholic Drinking Fountain award! That guy should be a little more careful next time.
Awesome dialogues. Only thing, it would be cool to change the pitch of the main character voice, the lines sometimes blend together and you don't immediately understand who is speaking.
Wonderful game, and the amount of work (especially voice recording) is impressive.
I don't really have any qualms with this since it's honestly a really funny and charming little point-and-click. My only issue is that it was a little hard to tell who was talking at some points. I don't mean to throw any shade to your voice acting since it's great. I just felt like the intonation of some characters were a little too similar. That and some of the puzzles devolved a little too much into trial-and-error. None the less, these are just small issues all things considered. The boss theme song was great
All in all, good stuff here
