(C)old Calls

[C]old Calls is a Rotary Phone Roguelike. Build a phone number that has enough signal strength to make an outbound call. Use canny, cunning, and your contact list to create a combination that will cut through the static!

This game is a turn-based strategy gambler. Dial numbers on the rotary phone to accumulate enough score to beat the round. Each number you pass is randomized from your deck, so you must ply a delicate line of certainty and probability.

Will you dial only high numbers and forgo your multiplier? Will you gamble it all on trying to get matching sets of numbers? Or will you stay low and steady, dialing only zeros? You contacts will help you, but who knows what the next call brings?

No AI was used in the making of this game.
Thanks for playing! Happy dials!

Thanks for playing!

Thanks! We only barely squeezed in the tutorial at the end but with more time we could've added more of an in-game one... The whole rerolling only numbers passed means you get to selectively reroll until you get what you want, but we struggled to find time to improve how that was communicated. Anyhow, thanks for giving it a shot!
I wish I could restart a level... Is it possible? Or will I need to replay from the start?
I tried clicking everywhere and everything (Continue is not working here) but it keeps me on my failure screen :')
The amount of digits in a phone number is very interesting to me! There is so many! 1 more than mobile numbers nowadays... and way more than numbers we used to have back when we used rotary phones! :) I still remember bright-red rotary phone we had. I liked playing with it xD I was very small back then. I thought it was very fun dialing the numbers on it! So I understood the mechanic in the game quickly (on how to dial) and it felt nostalgic and enjoyable.
Maybe I need to try and get higher numbers? But I only have a specific set of them and end up using them all anyway. Maybe I could try playing again if you give me a hint x) I am not even sure what some of the things are for (click threshold?..)
But I did manage to complete a few levels so I can at least write something about the game! xD I like the concept, the music you chose, very calming, and the process of dialing the numbers itself; I think the cards are interesting and I like how they look and the characters on them (not sure if I used them correctly or chose them wisely but oh well xD); and the visuals overall are pretty as always, I especially like the cigarette thingy! xD
Something about the UI and overall aesthetic gave me strong 'Papers, Please' vibes, in the best possible way. I don't know if it was the visuals, the animations, or the combination of everything, but it really worked!
I honestly think this game has incredible potential to become a successful indie title. I really hope you continue developing it, because I'd love to see it on Steam someday!
Wishing you all the best with the project. Absolutely fantastic game, congratulations! ❤️🎉
