Fotoshu: Caught on Film is a nostalgic Zen puzzle platformer about the difference between photographs and the reality behind them.

How to Play

Take photos of the landscape with your old film camera.
Then, hop into the world that was formed on the film itself.
If you took the correct photos in the right order, you can run and jump to reach your loved ones.

Controls

- Arrow Keys / WASD - Move
- Space - Take photo
- Backspace - Delete photo
- Restart - R
- Menu: Escape or TAB

I was having such a hard time with that last level, then the solution turned out to be so simple! Really nice game with unique gameplay, love the graphics and audio. Kind of wish the player character didn't stick to the ground for a second after landing, but the platforming isn't really the main point so it's not a big deal. It's got some really good puzzle design in there too.

Finished!! Stayed to play through all of this as it deserves it. What a great game. Excellent execution on the concept, looks wonderful and plays well. I love the little pause on landing as it give weight to the character and stops the game becoming too speed-platform / super meat boy. Wonderful and charming. Great stuff.

Gameplay is quick to learn and sound is good.
The characters expressions are conveyed even with little pixels.

I got stuck at the 3 photos part.

This is really a phenomenal entry. I think I have not seen a mechanic like this before (reminds me a bit of "viewfinder"). And especially the long levels feel like a proper challenge.

Awesome game! The mini animations really made it for me. Very unique puzzles. Level 13 took me a long time because I kept trying a solution like the one from level 15. Challenging but not frustrating, really well done.

Really great job with the mechanic design and lovely presentation. The pixel art is minimal while being very expressive. Amazing job!

One of the few jam games I play where I could genuinely mistake it for a full game with no modification. Obviously I'd love to see more, but I really love what you have here. I have no idea how you were able to somehow have the level progression feel good while still having each level thematically relate to the message, but everything about this game is so impressive.

Really loved the combination of everything together. Lovely story, pixel art aesthetic, music and puzzles. Really touching to feel the character's longing for their partner/dog/etc and you the player synchronizing with that struggle through the puzzles. Fantastic work.
