I am Computer

A roguelike about installing old software to yourself, while trying to get to the bottom of a dungeon.

Tip: you should probably install the three things you find in the first room. They're useful!

Controls:
- Walk into enemies to attack
- Arrow keys to move
- E for character sheet
- F to install things from the floor
- Enter to go down stairs!

Short, sweet, and fun. Nice :D

FYI, there might be something buggy going on with your site - Using the arrow keys to move around causes the site itself to start scrolling down to a console below the game. At first, I thought this might have been a meta computer-within-a-computer bit of gameplay, and was quite confused.

Going into fullscreen did help, but every time I closed a menu with escape, I'd have to hit escape twice (once to exit full-screen, and once to close the menu)

I didn't leave a rating yet since it definitely wasn't working as expected, but let me know if you make a fix and I'll come back! :)

@koolruz You can close a menu using the same key you used to enter it, this should fix the fullscreen issues. I know Emscripten was being a bit finicky with the website. Should be playable though if you don't use escape.

Oh, that worked! I kept getting stuck because I pressed enter on the confirmation screen when I installed an item, which got me stuck in my inventory.

With that new knowledge in tow (and about a dozen failed attempts) I made it through!

I didn't expect the ending, and it made me quite sad (which I suspect was the point, so well done!)

@koolruz Thank you for playing until the end! Sorry for the bugs here and there, and I'm glad the ending came across the way it was supposed to:)

Very unique game, but I found it very confusing, I didn't really understood how to kill the enemies, maybe an small tutorial could help? But I really like the graphics and how the game is structure, just like old school dungeon crawlers.
Ioanaauthor20 Oct 2026, 01:53
@neeko69 You're right about the tutorial, sorry it was a bit confusing. To attack you walk into enemies, like in traditional roguelikes. I've changed the description to reflect that.

Thanks a lot for playing!

THAT'S why people say the simpler the better! The mechanic is fun and quite clear after you get a hang of it. Confusing at first but when it clicks, it clicks. Awesome.

Great job on this project! The visual style and audio fit together really nicely, creating an awesome vibe. Super impressive execution within the 72-hour limit!
Left my ratings! If you have some spare time, feel free to drop by our page and try out our entry as well. Would love to hear your feedback!

Simple and straight after understanding the controls, I think adding some retro sounds or sound effects would add a lot to the mood of the game and graphics. Great job.

I like it, classic dungeon crawler style with a retro tech theme. Could use some better feedback when you are attacking enemies.

Always love to see raylib games, well done ! Maybe lacks some feedback when interacting with the enemies, at first I didn't really understand why I died. But overall its nice !

I like it, simple but enjoyable. Nice work mate

@randomhuman @alex-lumi More feedback would've been a good idea, you're right. I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway!

Not fully sure what I was supposed to do with installed software. I mainly tried to lure enemies away from blocking the pathways and it worked until it didn't. Simple retro style works!

Nice to see a take on roguelike in LD. I used to play them quite a lot when I was younger (countless hours in ADOM), this brought back those memories. Nowadays I don't even have a numeric keypad to test the diagonal movement but I'm guessing there isn't one anyway.

I liked the idea and I feel that it fits the theme quite well. At the beginning it wasn't clear to me how I died (I thought cats might be friendly) - but I just didn't see the life meter at the bottom of the screen. Only after going fullscreen this became apparent. So I agree with what was mentioned before about the feedback - maybe some UI adjustment would help as well.

Enjoyed your entry, thanks & congrats!
Ioanaauthor20 Oct 2026, 21:23
@marudziik There is no diagonal movement, no. I don't have a numpad either, and I thought the classic hjkl bindings would be a no-go. Most people are used to a four-directional grid so I just did that.

Yeah I'm kind of frustrated by how Emscripten handled the window resizing stuff, I was considering just locking it to 800x600 or something. The UI could have been a bit better in general, though.

Thanks so much for playing!

I really enjoyed the unique atmosphere of crawling through the dungeon while dealing with these retro installations. The premise of having to install old software to progress is a genuinely clever take on the roguelike genre.

Very interesting! I especially like the terminal down the screen, that really feels like an old computer a lot!
