Hi! In this game, you’ll be transported back to the 90s and tasked with the pirate duplication of VHS tapes.
A mini-game, quite literally.
I spent a great deal of time on the art, so I’ve only implemented a small portion of the gameplay, but you can keep following the project, as I plan to develop it further for a Steam release.
I’ve recorded a short walkthrough, in case you don’t feel like opening the game yourself.
But if you’d rather tinker with the knobs and press all the buttons on your own, here you go:
Wow, the art is so appealing and cozy, literally an eye candy. Impressive. Very nice.
P.S. Doesn't a "dubber" translate from one language to another? And in ex-USSR context it relates to a home-brew voice-over with the all time classics: "ты глупый или что-то? (are you stupid or something?)"
Most likely, you are absolutely right about the dubber. But honestly, I can’t even imagine what you’d call someone who churns out pirated copies back in the days of VHS tapes.
Wow, the graphics are absolutely stunning! A solid 5 stars from me!
As for the gameplay, I would've loved a little more interactivity. I think adding just one or two factors that affect the quality of the tape recordings could make the gameplay much more varied. And maybe the new movies could be hidden at first and unlocked as rewards for making good recordings of the previous ones.
But of course, it's your game, and you know best! Either way, the visual style absolutely blew me away. Fantastic work!
