Lensor

by orpheus
Although the Egyptians did not use lenses to burn blocks, you will use them in this surreal retro-edutainment (stylewise(not really)) game about very old technology(that was never used)

This was all conceived as a mix of a lens puzzle + incremental game + retro‑edutainment style + and something else. You can see what came of it yourself))

Burning blocks with lenses is the old‑tech we were promised.

I really liked the game concept! It was quite difficult to figure out what to do, as there was no tutorial or description explaining the gameplay. Adding one would definitely help players better understand the mechanics. Regarding the art style, I personally would have preferred it to be entirely pixel art, the mix of 3D and 2D felt a bit odd, but regardless it’s an incredible job! Well done! xD

This is absolutely awesome; the quality of this game is just incredible. If there were more levels, I’d definitely play it even more!

I opened the tomb!! That was really relaxing and interesting. Old Tech for sure! I think the only thing I wish I could have done was remove a passive I chose in favor of another. Great entry!

Hey, great game! It was quite hard at first, but I got the hang of it eventually. The art is quite nice and cohesive. I liked the music background music, even though it does get a bit repetitive. This has good potential!

You perfectly nailed the style of games from that era. I’d honestly forgotten they used to look like that. Amazing job! The left panel really gives me HOMM3 vibes :)

Fell in love at first sight! 😍

Very stylish game with endless depth. Had a small issue buying the first upgrade since I didn't realize you had to place it to refract the beam. My first thought was that these were all upgrades meant for the left slot. But I figured it out quickly and couldn't pull myself away.

Incredible work for 3 days. Great job! ❤️

Love the style you've gone for here! It really reminds me of those old CD-ROM games, especially the gold-and-blue menus and chunky 3D clouds. The Egyptian upgrade icons are a nice touch too.

Really satisfying gameplay and fun game loop, needed a minute to get the mechanics but got really hooked into it. Great game would love to see it fully flushed out if you continue with it.

The blend of ancient Egyptian imagery with this strange, defunct technology creates a wonderfully bizarre mood. It's clear you put thought into making the retro-edutainment feel unique, and the atmosphere really shines through the visuals.

Great concept! I loved how the sun sweeps across the pyramid while you place mirrors and lenses to burn through blocks and earn coins. The day and night cycle and the Egyptian pixel art look are great. Well done!

Really fun concept! I like the idea of using lenses to manipulate light and solve puzzles, and the ancient Egyptian setting fits the theme really well)) Having to direct the light and get all five torches lit at the same time makes for a neat puzzle mechanic. I also like the retro-edutainment vibe — it gives the game its own personality. Great job, and good luck with the jam!))
