NIGHT SHIFT

A survival horror about old tech

Hold on until six. You can only see them on the screen.

---

They only exist on camera

You're the night guard of Delmar Cold Storage, a warehouse built over an old telephone exchange. Nobody ever switched off the old lines, and now something travels through the wiring. Two entities hunt you, and you can only see them on your CRT monitor, never in the room. Watch the cameras, shut the door in time, seal the vent, keep the power on, and survive until 6:00 AM.

---

Two enemies, five ways to fall apart

- The Visitor walks the hallway toward your door (CAM 1). Close the door before it gets in, but every closing costs power.
- The Crawler moves through the cable duct (CAM 2). Seal the hatch with the lever and an arrow-key sequence. It hears the generator: the harder you crank, the faster it comes.
- Power: hold the crank to recharge the generator, but it overheats and jams if you push too long. At 0%, no monitor, no lights, no door.
- Signal and breaker: the image degrades over time, so tune it with a quick arrow sequence. Power surges trip the breaker, kill the monitor and lights, and happen faster when an enemy is close.
- The phone: answer it for a voice that buys you time. Miss it and something moves.

On top of that: lean in toward the monitor, a short intro cutscene, an old camera filter, and a dark, tense atmosphere.

Only being able to see the thing through the CRT is a creepy idea. I like the green lighting around the desk too!

Reaaally good, you gave me chill. You succeed in created a horror ambiance. The control are simple so its nice but i did not understand the breaker. Its a good small horror game.

The excellent concept and good implementation of the mechanics benefit the game, there’s no doubt about that. It’s much better than most games in the same genre. You can tell the author wanted to make something they like.

I was kinda left confused what i am suposed to acutally do to prevent them from coming? Do i need to time the closing of door and vent so they turn back? or they are slowly coming towards? It was not so clear and never truly knew why i died.

The athmosphere is create and i loved the managing the minigames, felt intuitive but not too hard.

Cool fnaf-like horror game. Balancing everything isn't easy and it really contributes to the atmosphere you've made here. One thing is that the arrow key sequences require you to let go of the mouse, not sure if that's intentional, but it does get you in a bit of a more vulnerable position especially if there's a lot going on.

@prunus-padis Thanks a lot for playing and for the detailed feedback, I really appreciate it!

You got it right: they slowly come toward you, step by step, and you can only see them on the monitor. When one reaches your door (CAM 1) or the vent hatch (CAM 2), you have only a few seconds to close it. If you do, it backs off and has to start over. If you don't, it gets you. Closing too early is a bit wasteful (the door costs power, and the hatch needs an arrow sequence), so the real skill is watching the cameras and reacting when they arrive.

You're right that this wasn't explained well, and that the death screen doesn't tell you what went wrong. That's on me! I'll work on a clearer hint when they reach the door and a better death message.

Really glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and the minigames, that was exactly the balance I was aiming for. Thanks again!

@ioana Thanks a lot for playing! The mouse and arrow key issue wasn’t intentional, so that’s really useful feedback. I’ll look into making the controls smoother. Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere!

Great work! the atmosphere is very well crafted and makes it even more terrifying. The sound effects are also very well done. One suggestion: it would be helpful to be able to zoom in on the PC monitor to get a better look at the scene, as it’s currently a bit hard to make out. Well done! xD

as a horror, it works great, truly great!

FNAF like, great concept, great audio and art even if the assets are pretty simple, great experience overall.

@emaigualmc2-art Thanks for playing and for the feedback! You can actually lean in toward the monitor by holding right click or Space. Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and sound design!

It's either me, who somehow became bad at FNaF styled games, game being really buggy, or both. Mouse sensitivity barely did anything, and i still change sensitivity on pc, and it's really unclear when to close doors or vents. Also, breakers seems to be the most useless mechanic ever, unless monsters stop making noices when moving. Also, i could question optimization, but it's me who uses old piece of tech.

Great game ! Most fun I've had so far this jam. Bit hard to understand when everything comes down at once, but that feeling of being overwhelmed and juggling 5 different mechanics is what FNAF is all about ! What a good idea to have them only show up on the screen.
Only issue I have with the game is that it's a bit hard to tell when you need to close the door, alot of times I closed it too early because I thought they were far enough.

The concept of trapping the enemies to the monitors adds a wonderful layer of tension. You did a great job creating a truly unnerving atmosphere!
Nesmon21 Oct 2026, 18:50
Game is done very well! I think it's polished, but you should add shadows to make it more juicy! Also i don't get some mechanics of a game
