> The cities are gone. Data-centers fell from orbit. The machines are still out there, still searching. They kill anything that moves.

PAAHDE is a CO-OP open-world survival crafting game set in an endless desert of a post-apocalyptic future.
You and your friends must scavenge materials and repair and repurpose old technology to help you survive the desert. There are many life-threatening dangers out there. You must shelter from the unforgiving heat and sandstorms. Besides the environment, if you wander deeper into the desert, you will encounter monstrous machines from a past age.
To complete the game, fight past 5 different roaming enemy types. You eventually will come across special artifacts that allow you to summon and defeat 4 different bosses. But your world has a limited number of lives, so avoid dying.
You can play PAAHDE at paahde.herkku.org by creating a new game, or joining your friend's game from an invite link.
- PAAHDE runs best on a recent Chromium-based browser.
- You need a decent computer to run it, we recommend something with a discrete GPU or an Apple M1 Pro or better.
The source code and assets are available at github.com/woltsu/dadajam, so you can also run the server locally. Most of the code (including code that generates 3D-models or 2D-graphics) was written using Claude Code. Turns out three skilled devs can do a lot in a weekend using these modern tools! The look and feel, game design, atmosphere, music — the parts that we most enjoy doing — are not LLM-generated. 3rd-party assets are listed in github.com/woltsu/dadajam/blob/main/public/credits.txt.

Before getting the Pip-Boy I had some serious trouble finding back to the bunker on my excursions. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to tie such a fundamental thing as a home beacon to a device you have to find and repair. Especially since the landscape is very vast and repetitive. I loved the effects of the other repairable items, though!
I played quite a while and I think I found and hunted all the different enemy types. I think I found one of the "special artifacts" but was unable to find the required parts for it. I wasn't really sure where to look for them, and I don't think the game gave any hints on where to find them, either. So I roamed around for a while blasting enemies and finding space-grade parts but couldn't really progress in the game. It's a bit too grindy to my taste.
Eventually the whole game crashed and I think my progress is now gone. 🤷
@juutis thanks for the detailed feedback!! In the future we'll def be tuning a new build of this to make the progression a bit nicer.
