Radio Host

A first-person horror game about radio signals, borrowed memories, and the search for a family.

You wake up in an abandoned Soviet laboratory. Its researchers were developing a weapon that could affect memory through radio waves. You cannot remember your past, but you are certain your family is still waiting. Familiar voices emerge from the static.

About

- Five connected rooms: a canteen, technical office, archive, generator room, and director's office.
- Exploration, radio tuning, documents, and interactive equipment.
- Clues within the world: records and transmissions instead of a persistent objective list.
- A journal retaining discovered information and documents you have actually read.
- Two endings.
- Video, audio, and control settings.

All in-game text is in English. Dialogue is subtitled, not voiced. Playthrough progress is not saved; preferences persist between sessions.

Running the game

Requires Godot 4.7.x. The project has been tested with Godot 4.7.2 on Linux and uses the GL Compatibility renderer.

1. Open `project.godot` through Godot Project Manager.
2. Wait for assets to finish importing.
3. Press F5 to run the project.

Alternatively, run from the project root:

```sh
godot --path .
```

To open the editor:

```sh
godot --editor --path .
```

The level is assembled at runtime, so an empty main scene in the editor is expected. Blender is not required to play.

Really interesting idea, tuning an old radio to find your own memories fits the theme really well. I ran into a visual bug, here’s a screenshot

@rekk1d oh, i spotted a bug after publishing, but i intentionally didnt fix it, as doing so would violate the 72-hour rule.Thank you for review!!!

Great job! The game plot really interested me. The environment in the game looks a bit chaotic, but it does not interfere with the narrative part. I was intrigued until the very end. Wonderful game!

Great idea and atmosphere. Too bad I couldn’t manage to finish it.

@1ncors And where did you stop? After the generators, or before them?

Good job with the submission! Nice Billy posters :D

There is a small issue with the performance: when starting new game or when turning around for the first time on the level there is a large lag spike. This is probably connected to the fact that I played the web version, or with the fact that I use Firefox 🤷 Happens only once per playthrough, so it is probably just some assets being loaded.

Interesting game. All the objects look great. Didn't really understand what to do after the generators. Nothing seemed to be intractable at that point. Maybe I missed something? Intriguing concept and a cool take on the theme. I would have liked to have gotten deeper into the story.

I really enjoyed the unsettling vibe of the Soviet laboratory setting. The idea of using radio signals and static to pull out fragmented memories is a really unique and spooky way to build the mystery. This game has a super strong atmosphere!
