Nice platformer ! The grapling mechanic works very well and has a good feeling once you "master" it. The jumps are a bit too short but i guess you want people to use grapling most of the time. Some room's are very difficult and a bit frustrating (the "leap of faith" one is...damn). I did not finished the game but I promise I tried :( The art is top notch (very impresive) Overwall the game was very fun and polished. Good job !
PS : Last word for the mood / theme (AI Overlord...), i think we share the same feeling : i found our game very close in this way, stay strong !
I loved the game, especially the grappling hook mechanic and the chaining of moves. The only downside is the need for checkpoints in certain areas to avoid having to start over from the beginning. Otherwise, I loved it.
love the inclusion of seeds. and the lighting. i wish letting go of the swing carried a bit more of your momentum. i also loved the lofi music and death noise (which i heard alot)
I like the grappling mechanic. In the old Worms games always my favorite thing. ;) I also adore the sprite of the main character.
For my personal taste I would have prefered a handmade level instead of different seeds. The "leap of faith" as @tayho has mentioned was very frustrating. Creating a handmade level could have avoided that. I also would have liked a stronger audio feedback for the grappling.
Apart from that the game mechanic was simple to understand and the atmosphere with the lights and overall colours is very cool. :)
Who doesn´t love grappling hooks in video games? This game unlocked a core memory of me playing Worms Armaggedon with my father and using the grappling gun in crazy ways. It´s amazing how well implemented the grappling mechanics are. As others have said, some of the sections are quite challenging. However, I do appreciate the polish in the mechanics and the game is very fun nevertheless! The pixelart is pretty with nice lighting effects. If I have to say anything negative is that I would have liked to hear some banger sountrack with this entry! I think it would have fit well. However, I completely understand that gamejams have limitations and audio is not easy to do, so good job to the developers on this detailed and well-polished game!
Actually think you nailed it on the swinging movement, when you chain it together just right its actually a really smooth movement through the cave if you can time it all out right. The game was fun I didn't even realize until the 4th or 5th run that it was a seeded generated cave, very cool stuff!
The game has a really nice feel and the grappling hook feels great, really cool that the levels are procedurally generated. The art is really nice too. The overall vibe of the game reminded me a bit of noita :)
