My goal for this Ludum Dare was to ship an inspiring prototype and rediscover the joy of making a game in a very short time, with the modern tools agentic coding gives us: I could focus on the gameplay and on the art direction of the assets, 99% of them AI-generated.
I chose to opt out of the Graphics category, since nearly everything was generated by AI. I still took particular care of the world and the atmosphere: even when the result is made by AI, art direction keeps all its meaning to make a coherent game.
I also had the pleasure of composing a track dedicated to the game, while taking part in the Two Hour Album Challenge (2HAC) at the same time.
A game made with Godot.

An old robot wakes up under the moss
A season has passed. Deep in the forest, an old mossy robot opens its eye beside an abandoned forge. Something hums beneath it.
Play Seva in your browser on itch (about 15 to 20 minutes), or download it for Windows or Linux: the links are at the bottom of this page.
Take the wheel of the Drill, a rusty old machine whose head hangs from a cable. Bore down through humus, clay and rock, reel the head back up with what it found, and empty the bucket at the forge.
Inside the forge, your finds land on the lot cards: nuts, copper wire, gears, pistons, vacuum tubes... Complete a lot and the forge turns it into a new part for the Drill.
Every bit opens a harder layer of the ground. Somewhere under the forge, an ancient Energy is waiting. Reach it, and the forge comes back to life.
What is in the jam build
- One dig, five layers of ground: humus, clay, rock, deep rock and ancient bedrock, each one harder than the last, down to the Energy reserve 100 rows under the forge. - Seven forge lots: the Drill Bit, the Drill Bit II and the Great Engine to break harder ground, the Side Bit to dig sideways, the Regulator to drink less Energy, the Lamp to light the dark, and extra Baskets to carry more finds. - 22 kinds of old parts to dig up, from nails and springs to relays, vacuum tubes and punch cards. - A tank to watch: the Drill runs on Energy and goes back to its quay to refuel when it runs low. - A living forest in pixel art, with seasons that turn while you dig. - Auto-save: leave anytime, Continue picks up where you stopped.

The browser build weighs about 46 MB: give it a few seconds to load.
Old Tech
The theme, taken literally: an old robot, a rusty Drill and a sleeping forge, and the forgotten machines that once ran on an energy nobody remembers. You do not build new tech here, you wake the old one up, one salvaged part at a time.

Made for the Ludum Dare 60 Jam, theme Old Tech. Third-party assets are listed above, so the entry is opted out of the categories they touch.
Post-jam fixes
- 1.0.4: the forge is easier to enter, E works from anywhere at the foot of its stairs (it only worked from one single spot).
just in time! I still have issues with windows and osx builds on itch apparently; but the web version is OK so it's time to get some rest! can't wait to play the games now, see you around
So, beside ai assets I like overall idea and style, but not very good for this theme, because the only thing that's picture old tech is that he is rusty and in plants. For the game itself its have potential to became good cozy game.
I love the style and how you add your way of old tech. I think it's really creative. ButI only didnt like the music and character isn't standing out from the background since the colors are really similar.
A great, relaxing game. The music really does the trick. It’s definitely the best part of the game. I also liked the feature where tapping up makes the drill return. It’s a good game—best of luck to the developer!
Hey good job! I think you got a really nice cozy game idea going on here! By the way I really enjoyed the music, it is really relaxing and suits the game really well! I really liked the idea of the day and night cycle, then I saw the season change.... NICE!
Nice! As a big fan of MotherLoad, I really like this game! The atmosphere is great! It might be a bit repetitive and lacks a bit of a challenge (essentially, it relies heavily on "grinding," given that it’s impossible to fail).
@loiclegrosfrere exactly! I had motherload in mind to start the jam! And I discovered there are loads of mining + incremental games with this idea..! still I kept this on for this jam.
so as always I got way too many ideas, and had to remove most of them to wrap something playable; I think I'll go further with the gameplay since I really enjoyed building up this little debut of a world!
@tucan yes the season were meant to be something in the gameplay but I had to remove to be able to reach a wrap before the end of the jam, I was going too far! still I kept the animation for the ambiance.
The way the old, rusty technology has settled into the world is really striking. It creates a wonderful sense of decay and life simultaneously, which is a beautifully distinct aesthetic.
@uralys yes, there is always something to cut out by the end of the jam! I had to do the same with my game! I like that you kept the animation, seeing the season change was a nice surprise! I hope you had a good time making your game!
Nice little game! Feels very polished. I had trouble getting into the hut, though. It only worked when I moved my vehicle slightly to the side. Other than that, really nice!
can't wait to play the games now, see you around
