The Earth is dead, fuel is life.

Introduction

In the baren wasteland of post-WWII Canada, technologies once considered common have now become a rarity. These once beautiful lands have been made desolate by the removal of the ozone layer after the war.

Those few left alive survive on ships that perpetually sail the seas. However resources run out, and that's where you come in. As a scavenger, you are dropped off on shore to gather what's left of the old world whether it be tech, luxuries, or most importantly, fuel.

The world is unforgiving, however. Miss your departing ship and you'll be stuck on land, with whatever creatures have adapted to live there too...

Instructions

Upon starting a new run, you will have a set number of days to traverse the map to reach the bottom. Select connected nodes to travel further down.
BEWARE: You are not the only scavenger on land, and most are not friendly. If you are ambushed be prepared to defend yourself and your cargo.

See how long you can survive, how many landings you can safely traverse, and how much fuel you can acquire.

I really enjoyed the mechanics and gameplay! I didn’t expect the game to be this fun, and it was engaging enough to make me play it twice. The graphics could use a bit of polishing, but for something made in such a short amount of time, it was awesome!

Very unique gameplay loop! The scavenging sections felt a little slow, but I enjoyed the text based adventure part of the game. Great work!

Thanks for playing! If a lot of the mechanics seem half-baked, its because they are. It really came down to the wire, and we bit off a little bit more than we could chew. As a result, the scavenging section was supposed to be quite a bit different, we just hit a point where it became "Ok, just make this function, and we'll add that if we have time".

A bit confusing of a game, but the levels with cars are fun.

very cute drawing. Nice SFX. But a little confusing what all the different parts you find are for. Very unbalanced and not finnished but very cute and running! cheers

Very ambitious but it plays really well. Honestly, if you compressed the audio, and made the art a bit blurry, you would have 100% fooled me into thinking that it was a flash game. I wouldn't mind it looking like one. The gameplay really reminds me of old fallout games combined with 60 Seconds and The Last Stand 2. Could have been a bit harder and it could have had more qol features but overall, this is really good! This is a solid entry.

btw, I honestly think that having a flash game aesthetic could work for this game.
Oh and the music was great!

Having to reach the ship before it leaves gives the scavenging premise a clear deadline. I like the contrast between choosing a route on the map and defending the car in an ambush. A clearer explanation of what the recovered parts are for could help tie those sections together.

If you have a moment, I'd appreciate a rating on my latest game, Robot Workshop.
