🥚 Tamagold-Tech

A virtual pet. A dangerous room. A very demanding friendship.

Taking care of a virtual pet sounded like an easy job.

Unfortunately, this one controls the room—and doesn’t handle disappointment very well.

Tamagold-Tech is a first-person virtual-pet game where keeping your companion happy is also a matter of survival. Inside a chamber of shifting platforms, you must understand its needs, choose the right action, and complete its challenges.

🐾 Meet its demands

🍲 Feed

Find a food bowl, pick it up, and bring it to your pet before time runs out. Moving platforms obstruct your view and complicate your journey. Complete multiple deliveries to satisfy its hunger.

🎮 Play

Follow a moving trail of illuminated floor tiles. Each completed path leads directly into the next, so keep moving and stay within the light!

🌙 Sleep

Raised platforms reveal cavities where a switch might be hiding. Find it and turn off the lights so your pet can rest.

Enjoy the darkness while it lasts: the lights gradually return, forcing you to find another switch before your companion wakes up.

⚠️ Disappoint it at your own risk

Choosing the wrong action or failing a challenge makes your pet angry.

And this particular pet expresses its frustration by launching spears through the floor.

🛠️ Behind the scenes

Built in Unity, the project combines:

- First-person movement and raycast interaction, using the New Input System.
- A C# state machine that manages the pet’s needs and gameplay flow independently of visuals and minigames.
- Frame-by-frame sprite animation, with ScriptableObjects storing character clips and their state mappings.
- A reusable tile grid supporting moving obstacles, illuminated paths, hidden switches, and spear attacks.
- Global Volume effects that simulate darkness and emotional color shifts while preserving baked lighting.
- State-driven music and sound effects, including fades between music clips.

💬 A note about this jam build

We couldn’t dedicate much time to this jam, so the project ended up quite incomplete. Several planned features, balancing passes, and finishing touches didn’t make it into this version.

Still, we hope you enjoy this little experiment and enjoy your time with our temperamental virtual companion!

The game I downloaded seems to be about collecting wizard cards inside a maze—it doesn't look like a pet-raising game, does it?

NOOOOO XDDD. Excuse me, we are going to re-upload the game.
