TGISSTOGWLT (This Game Is Somewhat Similar To Other Games With Long Titles)
You're the night operator of a buried 1983 fire-control bunker. Something is crawling in from the tundra. You can't see it. You get a radar that shows where things were about three seconds ago, and a lot of buttons.
Every control on the console has its own key. No mouse, no cursor, nothing is ever "selected". You start with one hand-loaded gun and four keys. By minute ten you're juggling twenty-something, and the console is on fire. Literally.
How it goes
- Survive a 12-minute shift. Every 10th wave a boss shows up.
- Kills fill a meter, Command sends crates: new modules, upgrades, kits that bolt new keys onto the console.
- Some crates combo with each other. That's where the broken builds live.
- Kill a boss and one of your crates comes back as a MK II with a new trick.
- Old tech breaks: the breaker trips, the scope gets magnetised, things catch fire, telegrams want an answer within 3 seconds.
A blinking keycap means "press me now". Press a key that does nothing yet and the teleprinter tells you what it's for. When you die you get a printout of who did the damage, plus a heat map of every key you hammered. (It's mostly W. It's always mostly W.)
Controls: read the console, every keycap on screen shows its key. To get going: A/D turn the gun, S loads, W fires.
Plays in the browser. The desktop builds run smoother.
There are no image or sound files: the panels, the phosphor scope and every sound are generated in code. Made with LÖVE and a lot of help from Claude (AI). It wrote most of the code, and the code is where the art and sound come from.
Theme is OLD TECH, and this is a whole 1983 control panel that keeps breaking. Felt on topic.

In my opinion it is too hard right from the start, would be good to start with a small number of targets. But that's just me, hardcore game lovers will appreciate it! Graphics, sound, effects are all top notch! Congrats on the cool game!
