Keep the lights burning. Watch who comes home. You are a lamplighter in a snow-covered town where darkness hides more than it seems. Maintain the street lamps, watch the townspeople, and face what emerges at night.
NB! Windows version recommended for the best experience: it runs more smoothly and displays the game more reliably than the browser version. Both versions contain the same gameplay and content. You can download the Windows build from the itch.io page below, or play in your browser.
Made for Ludum Dare 60: Old Tech. The theme is at the heart of the game: an old-fashioned lamplighter and the street lamps that stand between the town and the darkness.
This is my first Ludum Dare entry, made solo in Unity. Programming was done with AI assistance using Claude Code.
Audio uses assets from paid sound libraries. I edited, trimmed, and adjusted the sounds and created the in-game sound design myself. I have opted out of the Audio rating category.
The artwork is based on my own drawings and designs. AI-assisted tools were used to clean up and smooth the lines and correct drawing artifacts.

--------------------- BUG-FIX UPDATE — 20 October 2026, 02:15 CEST (UTC+2) Build: [v 1.02]
This update includes gameplay fixes and adjustments to monster behavior.
Love its aesthetics and the way day-night transition works. A-holes coming out to blow the lights out was funny once I figured out what is happening. The game design is flawed due to often having to walk from one side to another without any run or instant travel mechanic. The choice to force the player to walk has artistic chill but it doesn't combine well with non-chill gameplay events where I have to get from one edge to another as soon as possible.
I appreciate honesty on AI use, I'm not a fan but I don't think that in this case it provided any unfair advantage or produced an actual slop, though smoothing and correcting already starts to feel somewhat wrongish. Congrats on submitting a game!
