Hey everyone! Glad to be taking part in the jam! As for the theme, the first thing that came to mind was making a game about an armored train—but then I figured it would be more interesting without the tracks, so I gave the train cars legs instead! Here’s the link. https://citlaet.itch.io/walking-front Cheers! UPDATE. On the itch page I added post jam downloadable version with quailty of life changes, added tutor and few versions of control. web version remains the same
First of all, this game really needs a downloadable version. The browser version suffers from severe performance issues. I was forced to play at around 10 FPS.
On the plus side: the graphics are excellent, and the walker models are absolutely stunning. The atmosphere is magnificent, and the sound design complements it perfectly.
On the downside: it's not very clear what to do, where to go, or who to shoot. There isn't even a brief, safe moment to get used to the controls (which aren't exactly the most intuitive).
The game would greatly benefit from a short tutorial. Especially since it genuinely looks amazing, I'd love to see an expanded version in the future
On the second try I managed to defeat all enemies in a couple of minutes. It was enough to not move at all and just shoot.
I really want a longer and more complex game in this setting and with this atmosphere. To drive to the point for a long time and uncomfortably, shoot away the ammo and drive further, navigating by map and compass.
The music, visuals and rendering are all excellent. I love these cool vehicles! It’d be nice to have more content to play, but it’s really great for a game jam!
I couldn't really play the game. In the browser version i wasn't able to look around, keys/buttons were detected. The windows version crashed. The atmosphere is great, the floating peoples are rather creepy but somewhat fitting the game 😉
If there where some feedback after pressing a button in the menus, it would be great.
