Unfortunately, I ran out of time before I could really fit the "adaptation" theme... like at all... >>

Gonna keep working on it, but for my first ludum dare, I'd say it went alright.

Run SETUP, then ADAPTATION.
Arrows move, Q/W spawns stuff.

Nice graphics. But what do I have to do? I jump on the mushrooms and don't touch the grass. What next?

Yeah, jumping around not doing anything sums it up pretty well. I'll get back with a more playable build soonish, like this weekend hopefully. Glad it at least has an inkling of quality, in graphics or gameplay. :D
