My first LD, I didn't realize it started early so I got my start on Friday night. It was pretty intense even though I had purposely picked an easy game to create. Glad I didn't go with something more complex but I'm excited that I finished. I'm excited to take part in the big one next month.
Anyway it's 2am in Austria where I am so I'm going to go collapse.
Probably the most original set-up in this game jam, and possibly in the history of gaming.
Graphics are simplistic, but fun. I found the goldfish particularly cute. Funny writing, and while the gameplay is nothing out of the ordinary, it's just challenging enough.

Ok so it's a nice idea and the graphics look cool. The drop of blood saying it's a bad day to be blood in the water made me smile for some reason, probably because it was funny ... :) On the other hand I wasn't really sure what I was doing, as there is no indication of what the attacks in a ballte do, or what they cost. Maybe I just overlooked that, but if I don't find it, it's not obvious enough... :)
I agree with Christina that it was very original. And cute graphics and some funny moments. As an RPG there was not enough variation. Just blood blast the goldfish until your level is high enough to beat the sharks.
But a very good first Ludum Dare I think. And you finished within two days so a good rehearsal for the april edition.
Thanks for the nice feedback! I spent a lot of time on the design and art... too much in fact, I was hoping to have a chance to develop the game aspect more but I ran out of time. I was pretty happy that I managed to finish a working game though!
Hilarious. I agree that the game mechanics would need some more attention, but the weird plot made up for it in my opinion :)
