Thank you to the excellent NGUI and Arenmook... new version since I last used it, intuitive but another mid-LD learning curve.

Updated to have first 8 levels. Having a short break then will try some background music and FX. One special effect still to do, but only a reward, not core to gameplay. This is first of a number of puzzles on an island.

I do like the concept. I beat the game. I am still not sure if I was actually able to read the state machine or if I was just lucky...

I had the same experience as timtipgames. I beat it out of sheer luck and trial and error. No idea about the rules that governed the state machine. But perhaps the black box is by design? Very cool to see it play out nonetheless.

Cheers ;) It's actually "conway's game of life rules", probably would be more obvious on a bigger board. The code runs a 20x20 board but this was supposed to be the starting area only.
