You're struggling to make it through this crazy mixed-up life of being a burgeoning academic when your program administrator hands you a small, lightweight computer. "It's supposed to boost productivity," she says. You shrug. It's a free computer. Why not give it a try right? What's the first thing you find when you turn it on? An e-mail from your chair telling you that your work is trash. Fun times. Plus, it looks like the machine isn't all it's cracked up to be. It seems buggy and limited, more than anything else. But with your chair breathing down your neck, you'll try anything.
Trash: A Story of Uncertainty is a simple game that simulates a very simple computer designed to (supposedly) make you work better. When things start going wrong, your life as an academic becomes threatened. Some notes: If you don't know what to do, try logging out and logging back in (save and load). You probably have reached the end of the day. There is audio in the game (pulled and attributed from Freesound). The credits will always play sound, so adjust your speakers appropriately.
