This is just a quick one built with Canvas. The blurry/gooey effect is being achieved with CSS filters.

W/S/Up/Down [MOVE]
A/D/Left/Right/Spacebar [SPIKE]
M [MUTE]

WARNING: Will most likely run like hell in all browsers except for Chrome.

@Asado Ha, that's what I get for being the only play tester. I get better at the game so I crank up the difficulty... a bit too much ;)

Looks awesome! You need to call .stopPropagation() and .preventDefault() on keyboard event objects in your key handlers, though, to avoid tripping browser built-in hotkeys. I have typeahead find turned on in Firefox, for example, so w/a/s/d pop open the Find box and take focus away from the game.
