MiniLD #62compo
Arcabouço
My last LudumDare submission, Witch Treat, had lots of bugs. I wanted to correct those bugs, so I decided to create a new platformer for MiniLD. Unfortunately, I had to work alone this time. I programmed everything following tutorials and I already had some experience with pixel art.
Again, I ran out of time and couldn't make everything that I wanted. The Level Design is poor and I had trouble with the sound. However, I've learned a lot from the development - I managed to make the Skeleton's sword attack just like Simon's whip attack from Castlevania!
The characters:
Sternum - The skeleton protagonist. Hates zombies. Skeletons are the true undead!
Prazol - The vomiting zombie. Always with stomachache.
Rilho - The walking Zombie. Walking Dead. Whatever.
DeadAlive - The final boss. An alien-human-zombie monster with the power to bring the dead back to life with mutagenic chemistry.
Controls:
Arrow Keys/WASD - Move character
Up/W - Defend against projectiles
Z - Jump
X - Attack

Downsides: the fact that the boss keeps spawning zombies means that the game can become unwinnable if you take too long to get to the end, and since there's a save-state, that means you have to restart the game to try again. (Not a massive problem, since it's fairly short.) Also, the player sprite handles a bit stiffly (to be fair, he *is* a skeleton), and your attack felt a bit delayed.
