(Dangerous Abnormal Turbulent Asteroid Survival Squadron) has invented The Crusher™; a giant sphere that can amplify the force applied against an asteroid by a magnitude of over 9000.
This was fun, i did a physics asteroid clone too. A variant of this could be jointing the ball behind the ship & using an impact force threshold to damage the asteroids, so you'd need to swing it.
Btw if the engineers of DATASS truly were geniuses they'd build your ship *inside* the ball.
I liked the idea of using a wrecking ball to destroy the asteroids quite a lot! It's an interesting gameplay mechanic that creates some interesting situations alongside the firing.
