About This game is about a man in the late 1800's defending his land from the people abroad trying to colonize his land for their own benefits, he fends them off with spears. This game got made in a total of a day of work for the Mini Ludum Dare #69 with the theme being Colonization, ps. this was my first time ever doing graphics for my own game.
Controls Up and down arrows to move down and up and press the Spacebar to throw spears at the abroad enemy. Letting even one of them past your defense line will result in a game over!
@KloudRazor Yeah, I do know the main gameplay can be kinda 'meh'. And balancing is something I could have don better. Maybe clamping the max speed to a lower value. Thanks for giving it a try though!
Now is pretty unfair and simple, but the core of the game is good. I'm sure of that if you give it a more polished balancing and add some gameplay, it would be a great game. I wait for an update :)
I'm not sure any kind of criticism is due considering it was done in one day :) good job. I will only say you chose a good game idea to implement in one day, and did it well. you even added nice menus and all, and added music and sounds which is more then some do with more time.
Nice game! Best score I got was 22. I like the pixel art a lot.
I think the LD embed could use a fullscreen option, it doesn't really fit in the embed window. Also if you go to itch.io's edit page, then distribute, then embed, it gives you an embed link that you can paste in ludum dare so that it loads your game directly rather than having it within an itch.io page within the ludum dare page.
