Well, I finished with about 3 hours left, meaning I made the game in about 3 hours. However, it’s not much of a game, and it’s somewhat unconventional for LD, since it’s a web based choose your own adventure. A screenshot would be pointless because of this. Sorry everyone who demands a screenshot.
The game itself can be found here. I have included the source code, as well as the backend tool used to create the content here, so you too can make your own adventures. An important note, though, is that you’ll have to have a webserver with MySQL, and PEAR::DB installed. Additionally, the tool is NOT secure, and should NOT be used on a live server. As always, use at your own risk.
Pretty fun, although gets a bit annoying at times :)
After first attempt: Can it actually be completed? If so, I'm stuck on floor three. Second attempt, after talking to the author: Yes, it can be completed. I was close :) No graphics or sound, naturally.
As text adventures go, it wasn't much of an adventure... more of a book where you click "Next Page" a lot. I mean, there were a few choices, but not many! Until level 3, of course, where I randomly clicked for ten minutes until I hit the stairs up. Seemed remarkably silly how it would just keep closing off everything behind you. Especially in the secret passage, where for no reason at all, you always only had the option to go forward.
Now I wish I had done a PHP text adventure though. Would've been fun to make.
Second try... Random option selection maze completion for the win.
Funny game.
