It's Right Behind You! is a race to escape the lava chasing you down into the caverns. Can you make it to safety? Features destructible terrain, multiple difficulty levels, and fast-paced platforming action!
This game was made in lua, using the love2d framework.
Run and dig down through the earth to escape flowing red stuff. The digging mechanic was more interesting than other versions, but the only the difference in modes was the speed of the lava.
Fun little thing. Would have loved to see the map layout change, if only between difficulties. Digging down is slower than sideways, which is a subtle touch to stop people from just trying to drill down forever.
I agree with dramble that it could have used more mechanics. Maybe some special blocks that required obtaining a certain item to break. I think some sound effects would have really made the digging mechanic more fun to use.

I also suspected you could just dig yourself in a high corner and sit it out. Nope. Doesn't work.
