You can combine the .love with the love.exe file, and just include the .dlls and such in a .rar instead of forcing people to install LOVE. Just a suggestion.
Haha, I completed the game. But I has about (-5) lives at the end :) Keep going. As I saw your source I can admit that you really tried to make something good.
Polish this game up, you have the fundamentals down, but now you need to complete it.
Also - sound! sfxr makes it stupidly easy to create good sound effects. I had never used sound in a game before, but I tried for the contest, and it ended up taking no time at all.
What TehSkull said sounds like a good suggestion. I won't install a software just to be able to run one entry, having to download the entry itself is enough of a pain already. :(
