This game is a mix between a turn-based strategy game and a realtime-strategy game. It's implemented in Java and has both a 2-player mode and a singleplayer mode with a simple AI. The code is a bit of a mess right now, but it will be available shortly for download as well.
There is only 1 type of unit, but you can equip it with 3 types of weapons and 2 types of armor. Press the 'escape' key to end your turn, but move quickly, because it automatically ends after 10 seconds.
This game is probably more fun to play with an other human. HOWEVER, since I had the option to play on my own, I did not get anyone to play with me. It was waaaaay too easy. Most of the time the AI just walked up to a spot and never moved again. Didn't even bother to equip itself. This really killed the gameplay experience for me, I'm sorry to say this, because overall I liked the look and feel of it.
Well, the AI beat me while I was learning to play (bit frustrated with the drag-line controls) but the second try was easy. Like how one unit can collect multiple resources. The timelimit was annoying a bit because the right panel was dissapearing while reading what to buy. Nice entry despite being along side the theme.
Nice game. The controls wer a bit annoying and it would have been nice to not have to scroll to buy upgrades. I was playing singleplayer and by the end I was just holding escape down until the map was filling up with my units. The endgame was too frustrating to play since the 10 seconds is limiting (duh). It was fun but more endgame options and better controls would have been nice.
It's a neat concept and I like your interpretation of the theme. Some added indicators showing which player's turn it is and to whom each unit belongs would make the game easier to follow.
huh, I think this is one of the first genuine strategy games Ives came across in the LD. Thanks for making it I really enjoyed and would like to see more!

With some spawns the distance to certain resources for one player make it impossible to win against proper play.
