Here it is, the beginning of my ludum dare participation, and my first ever game jam !!
So in KCTD you must know four things, the cats must be cleaned before they enter the house, you have to spray water then add soap and finally dry them, but don't forget to build pumps, it's what refill your turret's ammunitions !
I like the idea of not having regular health bars for the critters in a TD game, but three steps in the process might be too much, maybe that's just me though.
It seems I can't lose health either, even though I don't clean the cats properly.
Wasn't entirely sure what parts of the game were functional. The sprayers always seemed to focus on the front-most cat and only starting to spray the other cats once the first was out of range. The dryers also seemed to run 'out of ammo' after a second. And finally I didn't seem to lose any lives even when dirty cats reached the threshold.
A little confusing to start with, a key might have been a good addition, but once I worked out what was what it was good fun. A good addition to the tower defence genre! Great work for your first LD, it's mine too!
You should add tool tips for the things you can build(how much they cost, etc.) You should also have scaled the game with the resolution or locked it to one resolution if you don't know how to scale as to not see the background.
Somehow I didn't lose any lives, no matter what happened o.O Information about range and abilities of the towers would be nice. The concept is interesting though :)
