Hungry Friend tells the story of Jim the Dinosaur who only wants to make friends. However, this proves to be difficult as his natural predatory instincts kick in. He's a hungry dino who might want to eat one or two friends, but not all of them.
Balance Jim's morality against his hunger as his instincts kick in.

This was our first Ludum Dare entry EVER. We know its very rough and still very buggy, but we wanted to follow through on our efforts. We ran the marathon, and the accomplishment was getting over the finish line. This was a fantastic experience and we will be doing this again!
normally I'd say to reduce the vertical scale of the levels, as having super high jump is always inconvenient, but honestly, it plays well with the weirdness of the theming. Cool game.
I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It seemed like a very simple premise, but once I got into it, the dynamic between eating the people and then avoiding them was really interesting. It's obviously not a fully formed game, but what was there was intriguing.
Great graphics and general idea! I wonder if there's a good ending to the game - it gets really difficult fast, so I end up eating all those cute animals :(
Fun game! You have a solid base here. The controls are a bit difficult and some bugs shows here and there, but it's a very clever and funny way to approach the theme. Congrats on this game!
Overall, a pretty fun game. I really enjoyed the reactions of the monsters as your morality got lower. I do wish there was a way to regain morality if it drops lower than you want, or that I had found it if one exists (though I get it's a game jam, so you may have wanted to put it in and not had time). Definitely keep doing LD and other jams, it gets more fun the more you do, as you learn more about how you best handle coding/designing/arting/sounding in situations like this.
Much like real life, it is difficult to avoid eating your friends. One problem is that the meat goes flying WAY too far, so you can kill someone and then lose the meat and have to kill someone ELSE to get more.

I just love the animations... like how the dinosaur's eye smears during the bite animation. Reminds me of classic cartoons.
