THEME You are the monster: "Bifbifidus refluxus" -> a monster stomach bug!
HOW TO PLAY Convert healthy pink bacteria in the gut to a nasty sick green. Turn them all green to win the level. Beware the healthy blue bugs, they will chase you if you're too close, kill you on touching, and change the sick green bacteria back into healthy pink.
CONTROLS The green bug (you) will move towards your mouse pointer. The further away the mouse pointer, the faster you move.
I like it! It's a fun little game, and the ability to bait enemies away from doing their job is a nice bit of player-system interaction that I wasn't expecting.
It's kind of gross, and that's what's making me laugh so hard! I feel like if you kept working on this you could get a real solid game for the web. No suggestions, just keep doing what you've done.
That was really fun - also making people puke is always a winner! :) From the gameplay side the fact that the immune system cell could turn back my converted green ones made it too hard for me to get passed the third level because stuff just got perpetually reverted. I tried to kite them in a corner and then take over the level but that didn't work out. May be I missed something. May be it would be better to find a setup that's more entropic/escalating somehow so level sessions have a more or less fixed play length and players don't feel as much like their progress is lost. Besides that I think with some updated graphics and sounds (besides the puking which is perfect) this could be a really fun complete game. If it would be a tad slower it could work on touch devices too! The minimap is a really nice touch but if you would need to save the screen space you could also put in directional indicators instead pointing to where the other cells are. You should continue working on this! I like making people feel sick! ;)
@inbetweengames, yeah the difficulty isnt well balanced after the first level or two, and I did run out of time before I could do more art and polish...but thats the compo for ya! I only really got 1 solid day of development in.
